HIS DEITY IS VERIFIED BY HIS NAME. His Father very clearly and definitely endowed Him with the name Jesus. A name which indicates the work of redemption that He was to accomplish. Jesus, Joshua, savior, redeemer. The only way of salvation is found in Him, for there is salvation in no other name. There is positively only one name which brings salvation and that is the name of Jesus. Acts 4:2 From the very beginning the intent of the Lord was that in His name repentance and remission of sins should be preached in all the world. Repentance, a confession of our sin is a vital step in having our sins remitted. Jesus made it very clear that no one can, or will ever be able to come to the Father except by Him. Therefore He presented three vital truths. He, Jesus is the way.. He is the only means, the single road that leads to an understanding of the Lord. Every and all other attempts to reach the Father, in the ultimate prove to be in vain. Jesus is the truth. He is the express and spoken truth. There is no falsehood to be found in Him. He is truth personified. To those who accept Jesus as the way and the truth, He becomes the life. Not just natural life but spiritual, eternal, everlasting life. In bringing us to eternal life, He has added the bonus of knowing Him and living for Him, in this life. John 14:6 He daily loads us with benefits. Living in this life without Him is extremely vain and empty. He, now and in this life is a very present help in every time of need. He is always with us. He will not forsake us. He is the only source of all spiritual life. Without the confession of His name there can be no eternal life in us. John 20:31
BLESSINGS FOUND IN BELIEVING IN HIS NAME. The first is foundational. He must be received and His Deity must be acknowledged. Those believing on His name, are granted the right and power to become sons of God. Given the strength and right to live His life, in this life, which is His supply to us by the working of the Spirit of the Lord in our lives. It is only by His power and might that sinners may be completely changed and find an absolutely new life style, in Him. John 1:12 Virtue for the healing of the human, the physical body is found in His name. Prayer offered for the deliverance of those afflicted by sicknesses is to be in His name. The man lame from his mothers womb. Daily laid at the gate called Beautiful, had not found any beauty in his life at all. The temple, the religion had not brought him deliverance. But when he was introduced to the man who bore that glorious name, Jesus, he had an immediate reaction. What a stir that day in the temple as he went leaping and shouting through the place. Acts 3:1-7 It was the name of Jesus, with faith in that name that produced the marvelous results in this man. It is not sufficient to know about Jesus, to have a knowledge of who He is, and His place in the history of humanity, but there must be an exercise of faith in His name. The very fountainhead of faith is the Lord Jesus Himself. His promises must be believed and His ability to do just what He has promised. Acts 3:15-16
