THE DEITY OF CHRIST

THE LAMB, ALSO A SHEPHERD. Jesus is found in the scriptures fulfilling many different offices. Not only is He the small, diminutive lamb, the sacrifice, but He is also the Shepherd of the sheep. Rev. 7:17 He is the GOOD SHEPHERD. John 10:11 There is none better, none more concerned and more capable of revealing goodness and mercy to His sheep. He knows His sheep, very intimately and individually, with complete understanding. John 10:14 There is none who have ever had His capacity to love and care for the sheep, nor will there ever be. He cradles the lambs in His arms keeping them close to His heart with special care for those with young. Isa. 40:11 He is THE GREAT SHEPHERD. Outstanding and unique in every aspect of care and love for the sheep. Heb. 13:20 It is His responsibility to feed the sheep. They will be adequately cared for in this area for Jesus is their one and only shepherd. Eze. 34:23 He is the CHIEF SHEPHERD. While there are many shepherds appointed and designated to lead the flock of the Lord. There is only Shepherd who is a Shepherd, not only to the flock, but to the shepherds also. He is supreme and over all. We may fully trust Him to lead and guide in the way of truth and righteousness. 1 Pet. 5:4

A DIFFERENT VIEW OF THE LAMB. This aspect of His work and the revelation of His character is vastly different from that which is usually associated with the Lamb. The people in the day of His coming will call for the rocks and mountains to fall on them to hide them from a wrathful Lamb. Rev. 6:16 The time for judgment, the great day of His wrath has arrived and who will be able to abide that day? Rev. 6:17 Surely all agree that this is the day of His second coming. We also know from the scriptures that this is the day when He will be revealed from heaven, IN BLAZING FIRE. 2 Thes. 1:7 No wonder the unsaved want to find a hiding place at that time, even if it means death, by falling mountains and rocks. It is a moment of punishment for all those who do not know the Lord and have rejected the gospel of the Lord Jesus. 2 Thes. 1:8 The severity of the punishment meted at that moment of time must be duly noted, for it is absolute and eternal. Where the world had been offered salvation through the blood of the Lamb, now, the only source of salvation become their very judgment. As salvation for the believer is eternal, everlasting, forever and forever. So the destruction of the unbeliever and the one who rejects Jesus will be eternal, everlasting and forever and forever. 2 Thes. 1:9 They will never be able to enjoy the glories of the Lord in His everlasting kingdom. Please consider, that this will happen at the precise time when He will come to be glorified in His saints. Or in other words at the time of His second coming. 2 Thes. 1:10 This indelibly links the day of His coming for His people with the total destruction of ALL who have not prepared themselves for that wondrous day, if we are in Christ. But, one horrendous day for those who are outside of Christ.
