THE DEITY OF CHRIST

WHO IS THIS SON OF MAN? A GOOD QUESTION. A question which came from the crowd who had gathered to see this spectacle, this man who proclaimed Himself to be the Messiah and to see some notable miracle performed by Him. John 12:34 His subject was the cross and the great attraction of His sacrifice. He was to be suspended between earth and sky as the sacrificed Lamb of the Lord. Through His offering He was to draw all men unto Himself. John 12:32-33 There is an important point of the workings of the Lord in salvation which must be addressed here. It is the FATHER who attracts men to come to the Lord Jesus. John 6:44 Once again Jesus repeated this thought, that no man may come to Him except he be given that ability of the FATHER. John 6:65 It is needful that we say what the scriptures are saying.

THE SON OF MAN, STANDING AT THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD. This is not the normal position portrayed by the Word of the Lord for the Son of Man, usually He is seen sitting. This is a very special occasion. He is standing in honor of, and to welcome the first martyr, Stephen into the kingdom of God. Stephen saw Him as the Son of Man. The experience of Stephen was so spectacular and glorious that it would have negated any suffering from the stones or fear of the people who were taking his life. He saw only Jesus, and the eternal glory of the Lord. His vision was perfect. Acts 7:55-56 The Deity of the Son of Man is never, more evident than His relationship to the throne of the Lord. The LORD [Jehovah], said to my Lord, the Lord Jesus, sit thou at my right hand. Acts 2:34 In this fashion, He was exalted to the right hand of the Majesty on high and is forevermore an occupant of the eternal throne of God. Acts 2:33 In His exaltation to the throne He is a Prince or a ruler and a Savior. Acts 3:15 Jesus is the Prince or the Chief of life. All life emanates from Him. Especially eternal, Spiritual life. Acts 3:15 He is also the absolute Chief and head over all the kings, or political leaders, whatever their method or title be. Rev. 1:5 We must remember that the powers which are in authority are ordained of God. Whether their leadership is good or evil, the Lord is still in control. It may appear at times that there is no Divine leadership asserting its authority, but He is there and is directing the world and its affairs in the direction which He wants it to go. Rom. 13:1 The political world is reacting just as the Lord said it would. The scriptures are daily being fulfilled exactly as He said in the prophetic utterances of the word. We are living in the era of wars and rumors of war. Pay special attention to His statement that the end is not yet, for this condition is just the beginning and we have been there now for a number of years. Mt. 24:6 A sign that will indicate that the end is quickly approaching is when they will be able to say, peace and safety. That is when sudden destruction will come. Just when the political leaders of the world will think that they have solved earths quarrels and disruptions. Then the end will come. 1 Thess. 5:3
