THE LORD HIMSELF SHALL DESCEND FROM HEAVEN. There is no question as to the person who will appear. It is plainly stated that He is the Lord. He is coming as the ruler of all, not only humanity, but all of creation. There is no area over which He does not have complete dominance. He will appear in all of His splendor and glory. 1 Thes. 4:16 Look, He is coming. He is coming with clouds. The second coming of Christ is not to be invisible nor an event that only the redeemed will see. The true Word is directly from the Lord Jesus. He, personally was involved in the deliverance of this all important message. Rev. 1:5 The truth is that every eye shall see Him. None who have ever lived on the earth will escape visually beholding that awesome and terrible appearing of the Lord Jesus. Those who pierced Him will be among those who see His coming. That includes all those who are in the grave. All kindred of the earth will mourn when they realize that what has been prophecied over millenniums is indeed taking place. Rev. 1:6
CONCERNING THE TIME OF THIS EVENT. It is a one time happening. There is but one phase. Jesus very clearly spoke of that event and left no doubt as to it taking place and the events which accompany it. Firstly, He said that the sign of the Son of man would APPEAR [Greek – To lighten, shine, be seen]. in the heavens. Consider how frightening this will be for the unsaved. They will see Him coming in the clouds and in tremendous or the completeness of His glory. Majestic beyond description. His glory is like the flaming fire and will be manifest in its very fullness of might and power. Secondly, Please not, that JESUS said that this will be announced with the trumpet sound, which is another seal as to what will happen when He appears. Thirdly, This is the time of the gathering of the saints from all over the earth, both the living and the dead. These are the circumstances and prophecies which are accomplished at the time of His second coming. Mt. 24:30-31 To further verify the circumstance of that moment when He comes, as flaming fire, there are two occurrences which must be made plain to us, from the scripture. It is the moment when the wrath of the Lord will be revealed against the ungodly forces that have been in power. They will be punished with everlasting destruction. Does that seem harsh? Not when one knows the absolute wickedness and the hatred which has been displayed toward the Lord. It will be a just and proper judgment. Those who receive it are indeed worthy of the same. Conversely, this is a wonderful moment for those who are in Christ Jesus. It is that long waited glorious and most wonderful moment of time when He will manifest the power of His resurrection. He will be glorified in His saints, which translates into the meaning that they will receive their resurrected, glorified, eternal bodies. 2 Thes. 1:7-10 The rewards of eternal life or eternal death are in His hands and will be executed when He comes, openly and visibly even as the Word of the Lord declares it to be.
