THE DEITY OF CHRIST

DEEPLY INVOLVED IN CREATION. For BY Him were ALL things created. That certainly is all inclusive. It involves every realm of the affairs of man and of the universe. From man to the very macrocosm in which our planet is located. His part in creation is plainly defined in the scriptures. Creation reveals a Divine intellect coordinating and placing in order the whole of that which was made. In a disruptive world, the harmony of nature is amazing. He is the architect of heavenly items as well as those on the earth. He created that which is visible, the universe and all of its contents. All which exists, yet is invisible is also the work of His hands. That well covers the whole of creation. Beyond that, the political powers that exist are according to His will and purpose. Kingdoms, governments and principalities are all brought to existence by Him. Col. 1:16

HE IS LORD. His activities in creation afford Him the right to be called Lord. It is He who laid the foundation of the earth in the very beginning, while the heavens are the work of His hands. Ps. 102:25 Heb. 1:10 Because of, and by His involvement in creation, He is God, for the builder of all things is God. Heb. 3:4 Eph. 3:9 The builder is stated to be the Lord Jesus Christ. Not only did He bring all things into being, but they now continue on through Him. Because, He ever exists, we are [exist, NIV]. through Him. 1 Cor. 8:6 How much does humanity depend on Him? Life is livable on this world because of light. Jesus is the light of the world. He is the light of life. John 8:12 God is light, no darkness whatsoever to be found in Him. 1 John. 1:5 He is the light of the New Jerusalem. Rev. 21:23 Not only is He Spiritual light and life but He is also the source of the very light which lightens this earth and thereby crates life.

HE PRECEDES ALL. He is as eternal as eternity itself. Not only is He the ever existent one but He supersedes all, in every aspect. Col. 1:17 He is ageless, He is changeless. From eternity past, today, and in the eternity to come, He is ever the same. Heb. 13:8 Inasmuch as He is the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last letters of the Greek alphabet, He is the alphabet which, when combined forms into words and He is the Word made flesh. The person who claimed to be the Alpha and the Omega likewise proclaimed Himself to be the Lord God. That person who has ever existed. He who is, who was and is to come, the Almighty. Rev. 1:8 The context of first chapter of Revelation leaves us with no doubt as to the person making the statement. He is named as being, the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the first begotten from the dead. The one who loved us. Purchasing us by His very own precious blood. Exalting us and forming us into a kingdom of kings and priest unto His God and Father. The person who will come in the clouds with great glory. Rev. 1:5-7 His Father has exalted Him and granted Him an eternal kingdom and a throne of glory which will never cease to exist, and the beauty of all this is that He will share its blessings and glory with His people.
