THE DEITY OF CHRIST

THE WITNESS AND TESTIMONY OF OLD TESTAMENT PROPHETS. They spoke in a manner that indicated the coming Lord and Savior. Note the agreement between the prophet Isaiah and the Apostle Peter. Isaiah said, that the LORD Almighty, the LORD of hosts was to be held in high esteem because of His righteousness and holiness. It is He who should be our fear and dread but only in a sense of failing to please Him and in doing His will. He is awesome in every sense of the word, yet is so gentle that He carries the lambs in His arms. Isa. 8:13 Peter declared that we are to sanctify the Lord in our hearts. To honor Him and to magnify the standard of holiness that He has brought to us. Making a very special place for Him in our hearts and lives. He should always have first place. 1 Pet. 3:15

OH TASTE AND SEE, THAT THE LORD IS GOOD. So is the invitation of the Psalmist. Ps. 34:8 Anyone who has partaken of the good things of the Lord can verify the truth and joy of participating in them. The Apostle Peter was to touch on this theme with his statement, if so be that ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious. 1 Pet. 2:3 The goodness and graciousness of the Lord is extended to the whosoever will. All may participate of his bounty. Jesus is the manna, the living bread from heaven the eating of which assures one of eternal life. John 6:58 He supplies the milk and the meat of the Word of the Lord. 1 Pet. 2:2 Heb. 5:14 Butter and honey supplied to all who come. Isa. 7:22 He dispenses living water to those who ask of Him. John 4:10 Try the Word of the Lord, try His ways and participate in that which is good. Try that which produces life everlasting. The stores of His bountiful house are available to all who will come and partake of His blessings. Just taste and see how good the Lord is. There is full and complete satisfaction to be found in Him.

THE ONLY LORD GOD, THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. A comprehensive recognition of who Jesus is made by Jude. Jesus is acknowledged to be the Lord God. To further verify the person of whom he is speaking Jude uses the fullness of His name by calling Him the Lord Jesus Christ, which is indeed the full name that the Father gave to His son. Jude 4. He is also recognized as Lord and His involvement in delivering the people of the Lord from Egypt, is recorded in verse 5. Michael, the arch angel, who is none other than the arch angel of resurrection, the Lord Jesus used the name of the Lord when contending with the devil. May the Lord teach us to use His name in like manner. Jude 9 Jesus is coming, and that soon, as the Lord of lords and the King of kings. He is coming with the multiplied thousands of the redeemed. All of whom are shining with the glory of the everlasting Lord. Jude 14 They are the cloud which will surround Him in that glorious day of His promised appearing. Like the cloud in the tabernacle and the temple was the majestic presence of the Holy Spirit of the Lord. So the same glory will fill that bright shining cloud out of which Jesus will appear in the day of His coming.
