THE DEITY OF CHRIST

THE FATHER HIMSELF EXALTED JESUS TO BE LORD AND CHRIST. There could be no higher authority provide that wonderful appointment. With the bestowal of the names Lord and Christ came the supremacy and power of the name. He whose earthly name was Jesus now possessed a three fold name. Acts 3:36 The Father who had revealed Himself to the old testament saints as Lord, had said, I am the LORD [Jehovah] that is my name and My glory will I not give to another. Isa. 42:8 Nevertheless, when it came to His Son, the Father gladly, proudly bestowed that name upon Him and it became a shared name. All that it imbodied, all of its authority, its strength and command is shared equally. In the mysteries of the Godhead, the Lord is the Spirit [The Holy Spirit]. And, where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. The Spirit is also called by the name of the Lord. This shows a complete and absolute sharing and equality, without ever loosing individuality. 2 Cor. 3:17 We are well aware that God is a Spirit and they who worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in truth. John 4:24 Because the Lord is Spirit it is very fitting that the Spirit also be called after His name. It is the Lord, who is the Spirit. NIV 2 Cor. 3:17

THE NAME OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. Holy Spirit is not His name. It is the title of His position in the Godhead. His name is well understood by His work in the life of the believer and the church. He is the anointing, the unction that energizes the believer. He is that other comforter who should come. He is the one who brings the believer to birth. He fills them with His presence making them to be one with the Lord. It is He who takes the things of the Lord Jesus and reveals them to the church. He is our vital link with the Lord ever imputing the life of the Spirit unto us. God has made this same Jesus both Lord and Christ. Jesus has not replaced them but as the Word states, in Him dwelt all the fullness of the Godhead, In a physical body. Jesus did not take the duty of, nor did He succeed either the Father or the Holy Spirit but now, in the economy of God, the fullness of God dwells in Him. Col. 2:9 The fullness of the name has been given to Him. All the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are to be found in Him. Col. 2:3 All power is relegate to Him. Mt. 28:18 Jesus has been highly exalted by God and the fullness of that name that He has been given is a name exceeding all other names. There never has been nor will there ever be a name like that of the Lord Jesus Christ. There will come a day when all in heaven, and on earth and under the earth will bow before Him and confess that God has made Christ Jesus to be Lord. All of which is to glorify the Father and for the Fathers good pleasure. Phil. 2:9-11 The attitude of the Father in all this is that of great joy and rejoicing because the Lord Jesus has fulfilled the Fathers will to the nth degree. Jesus is the Son of the Father, therefore all the integrity and righteousness of the Father is found in Jesus. He is in the image and likeness of His Father and bears all the divine nature and demeanor of His Father.
