THE LEADERS AND THE PEOPLES OF THE EARTH FOLLOW THE WOMAN. They become deeply involved with her sin of idolatry. Immorality of the basest kind will be practiced to such a degree that they become intoxicated, drunken and overwhelmed with their supposed liberty. Rev. 17:2 The whole world will be attracted to her. She is like a shinning, glittering cup of gold. All will drink of her fornication’s and become completely irrational, insane and without restraint will be given over to her practices and madness. Jer. 51:7 It does not take a revelation to see that the beginnings of this drunkenness are already coming to pass, they are already a factor in today’s life.
THE DESCRIPTION OF THE WOMAN OF SIN. It must be taken into consideration that the Spirit carried John into the DESERT, a wilderness. This woman is the pseudo, the false, the counterfeit church. There is no truth to be found in her. Rev. 17:3 So absolute is the deception that which is false assumes the same location as that which is true. During this period of tribulation the true church is harbored by the Lord in a place called the wilderness or a desert. Rev. 12:6 In an attempt to convince the world that she is the real thing, the imitation will position herself in the desert. The woman will be situated on a scarlet beast. Colored scarlet as a pretense, a substitute, copying the blood atonement of the Lord Jesus. She is exalted by the beast and used as a front for his purposes and deceptions. As the beast upon which she sits enthroned is full of the names of blasphemy so is she. She will receive everything that the beast has to offer her. Even to his names of blasphemy. Rev. 17:3 Satan will do his best trying to get his name on the inhabitants of the earth. Rev. 13:16-17 The devil, always the copy cat, for the overcomer will have the name of the Lord Jesus Christ written on them. Rev. 3:12, 7:3, 14:1 The political forces that are to be a part of that beast are represented by the seven heads and the ten horns. The ten horns are far more extensive than just a restored Roman empire. While the Roman empire may be considered to have been a type of that which is now forming, what we are seeing here in the scriptures is far more comprehensive than just the nations of Europe. Today we deal with spheres of influence or nations banding together for common purposes. What we see in the Book of Revelation relating to the government of the world is to be world wide. One world, one world government led by an amalgamation of a council of ten leaders representing ten unified areas of the globe. For example, NATO, SEATO and so on. This is not to say that these alliances are a part of that which is to come, though they could be. What will be, is already taking shape in our world today. We are looking at the streams as they begin high in the mountain pastures while the Book of Revelation depicts these happenings as overwhelming floods. Changes take place gradually and we adjust to them however when you look back over a life time you realize how great those changes have been. The world has changed and is changing and will change greatly in the immediate future. The prophecies of the book are upon us.
