THE SON OF MAN PRAYED FOR THE RETURN OF THE GLORY. Jesus in His prayer, the real Lords prayer, prayed for that moment when the glory which had been His, would be His once again. Words cannot express the deep emotions involved in the decision made to leave the eternal glory of the Father, which had always been His. The praise, the plaudits, the worship, the honor of that glory is measured only by the great magnitude of who and what the Father is, in His eternal being and majesty. From His request, it is very evident that Jesus, as the WORD had been the receptacle of the Father and His glory. Not only was the glory of the Father in Him but it also was upon Him. Clothing and bathing Him in that glory. John 17:5
JESUS, THE BRIGHTNESS OF THE GLORY OF THE FATHER. The sensibility which existed between the Father and the Son was and is absolute. There is nothing but full and complete harmony between them. The Father commissioned His Son to be the voice of the Lord for these last days. That is, the two last days, or the two thousand years of the Gospel dispensation. A day with the Lord being a thousand years. There is no truer voice speaking to mankind, and in particular to the church than the Lord Jesus who is the Word made flesh. Prophets come and prophets go, but the Word of the Lord abides forever. Heb. 1:2 This Jesus, the Son of Man is the brightness of the glory of the Father. He is the shining forth, the effulgence, the flashing beam, the ever scintillating and flashing light of the eternal glory of His Father. Heb. 1:3 Jesus is that glorious light shining in full strength in the darkness of a sinful world. He is that brightness which illuminates our hearts and gives us a knowledge of eternal life and the ability to possess that life more abundantly. We see the glory of the Father in the face of the Lord Jesus. Once veiled, nevertheless highly visible. Now returned to Him. 2 Cor. 4:6
THE EARTH LIGHTENED WITH HIS GLORY. The visitation of an angel. It is important that we know that not all who are named to be angels in the scriptures are created angels. The term angel is expanded to mean a messenger, or even a pastor, anyone who is commissioned to carry a message. For instance, the angel of the Lord, is the Lord Himself. We have an angel in the book of Revelation who visits the earth in a most spectacular fashion. His place of origin is heaven. He is in possession of immense power and ability. His presence is the glory of the Lord with which He lightens the whole earth. Rev. 18:1 He will announce the fall of Babylon, the ungodly religious/political system of the antichrist. His presence will fill the whole earth with His glory. Ps. 72:19 The perfection of praise and worship will be established for the entire population of the redeem who inhabit the earth. Their cry is thrice Holy is the Lord. Isa. 6:3 Ezekiel was also privileged to see the extremely great and radiant glory of the Lord with which the earth was lightened. Eze. 43:2 Jesus prayer has been answered, the glory which was once His is now His again and we shall see Him in all of His glory and splendor.
