WARNING SIGNS OF THE COMING OF THE SON OF MAN. There are some very important events which will precede and warn of the immanent return of Christ. Most certainly most of the signs pertaining to His Second Coming are evident in the life of this world today. They are in various stages of fulfillment. However, there are celestial signs which will most definitely take place before He comes. Luke is very explicit in stating that there will be signs in the sun, moon and stars announcing His approaching day. Luke 21:25 The sun is destined to be turned into darkness, the moon into blood, BEFORE the great and dreadful day of the LORD. Joel 2:31 Until this sign of the Son of Man is seen in the heavens, He will not return. Peter, under the inspiration and anointing of the Spirit, on the day of Pentecost repeated this portion of the Scriptures and verified it to be an event which will take place before He, Jesus comes. Acts 2:20 Thus, in the mouth of two witnesses the Word is verified. What ever you may hear, by preaching or by prophetic utterance that the day of Christ is at hand, weigh it, measure it, compare it carefully with the Word and you will not be mislead. There are false prophets at work today who will misguide the people of the Lord if they do not know what the word says. It says, Don’t believe them. Mark 13:21
CONSIDER ONE OCCURRENCE WHICH MUST BE, BEFORE HE CAN COME. He will use the great sound of the trumpet to gather together His redeemed from all over the earth. Mat. 24:31 Please note carefully. The miracle which will happen at the very instance of time, is the change of our mortal bodies into bodies that are like unto His. Resurrected, immortal, perfect bodies, which are identical to His. While His coming will be with the speed of light, it is not all over in the twinkling of an eye. That which will happen in the twinkling of an eye is that the body will be changed. There are a number of judgments which will be enacted at the time of His coming and they will consume more time than the twinkling of an eye. This will take place at the sounding of the LAST TRUMPET. That is the final trumpet. How fitting that the book of Revelation spells out several consequences which are introduced by the sounding of a trumpet. The last trumpet being that which incites the Second Coming. It is the fourth trumpet which is important to our current subject, for its sounding will produce a warning second to none, of the return of the Son of Man. How fitting that it should be the fourth, for four is the number of this earth, and this is a warning to the earth, seen in the heavens. One-third of the Sun will be darkened, one-third of the Moon and a third part of the stars. One-third of the day and one-third of the night. Rev. 8:12 This is a warning. The Lord is fair in all of His dealings with men and will warn them in this drastic and very disturbing manner. What fear will be in the earth at this moment of time. If men repent because of fearful circumstances this would be that time. There never has been a happening like this. But there is one greater coming, the Lord will turn out all of His lights and men will be in total darkness as a judgment for having rejected the light.
