THE LORD IS LOVE

Rev.C.J McKnight

December 01, 2008.

  1. LOVE. His nature, His being, His purpose, everything about Him is a direct display of His almighty love for human kind. It is a component of His emotions which are of the greatest benefit to mankind. His is a love, which is unequaled by any other in time or eternity, on earth or heaven. It is unique in its character. Its depths and intensity may not be measured in common, earthly terms. As with all things, He is the source, the fountainhead of Agape love. The highest form of love, for it is love as only He can love. 1 John 4:16

HOSEA

1.
Hosea, means salvation or deliverer. His name was also shared by others in the Bible and should not be confused with them. A name that was fitting to his calling as a prophet. While he ministered mainly to Israel (The ten tribes) he was also called upon to prophesy to Judah. We know that he was a contemporary of Isaiah 1:10, Micah 1:1 and of Amos 1:1. It is noteworthy that his inspiration came from the word of the LORD, as it did with many of the prophets. This statement is frequently recorded in the introduction of their prophecies. Hosea 1:1.

SIGNS

Jesus listed three evidences of His return which are most generally out of the control of mankind. They are famines and pestilences and earthquakes. Of the three, earthquakes are to be considered in this article. Mt. 24:7 Earthquakes in divers place emphasized by the use of the plural. Many in different areas of the world. Some are happening in places which are not supposed to have earthquakes, also other areas where they are ordinarily less frequent. In this same chapter Jesus spoke of the shortening of the days in the end of the age. Mt. 24:22 While there may be many ways in which this will be accomplished, one of which is overlooked, yet of significance is the effect of an earthquake, not only in one locality but world wide.

In times of distress, in a world of trouble and living in a troubled world, there is a source of peace and tranquility available to all who will take advantage of it. Jesus urged His followers, to ìbe not troubled,î both during His life time on earth and most definitely now. John 14:1.
