HIS STAR. The mouth of a false prophet, a hireling, speaking truth. This indeed is an unusual situation but the whole story shows the ability of God to thwart the vain efforts of men against Him or His people. The coming of a star, a flaming fire or prince out of Jacob. The establishment of a Scepter {branch or scion, a clan or tribe }, all in reference to the Lord Jesus. He was to be victorious. Num. 24:17 HIS STAR was to be an attraction to the nations of the world. They would come to the brightness of His dawning. Isa. 60:3 The prophecy of Baalam is well understood when we turn to the Book of the Revelation. It is here that Jesus identifies Himself as the bright or the radiant star. The blazing, glowing, bright, magnificent star that brought light to the world. The morning star. the dawning of a new age, the breaking forth of the light that was to lead to life eternal. Rev. 22:16
THE LEADING OF HIS STAR. Wise men will always follow His Star. How did the wise men know that Jesus, the king of the Jews had been born? Only by divine revelation. These wise men were not astrologers. necromancers nor magicians. God cannot nor will He violate His Word. Those in Israel who would resort to such persons committed an abomination before the Lord. Deut. 18:11-12 , Isa. 8:19-20 It is incongruent that the Lord would call such condemned individuals to attest to the fact of the birth of His Son. We note that Daniel and his companions were listed among the magi or astrologers of that day. However there was a vast difference as to the source of their wisdom. These wise men, coming to visit the Christ child were from the East or sunrising. Why were the magi of Herod not aware of this if it was to be revealed to men of that sort? It was not general knowledge among them. The wise men, were men that had Godly wisdom and revelation. < WE HAVE SEEN HIS STAR >. They recognized it when others did not. They came to worship, they were spiritual men. Men belonging to the kingdom of God. Mt. 2:2 This star was an unusual star for it had not appeared nor was it shining until the moment they saw it. Herod sought the exact time of its appearance. Mt. 2:7 The star proceeded to lead the wise men until it came to the precise place where the young child was situated. Mt. 2:9 Why did Herod or his wise men not follow the star, when he was so desperate to find this one whom he considered a competitor? It is possible, yes very likely, that the star was not visible to them, but only to those delegated by the Father to visit His Son. A star, a sun a blazing light of the glory of God directed them to see and worship Christ. Obviously, the star that led them was not an ordinary star, not one of the heavenly bodies of light that shine from night to night. It was HIS STAR, not another. When Jesus was proclaimed to be THE BRIGHT AND MORNING STAR, what else would be expected when the LIGHT OF THE WORLD had come into the world. The SUN of righteousness. THE VISIBLE GLORY OF THE INVISIBLE GOD.
THE VISIBILITY OF THE INVISIBLE. That which is not seen, is seen, in that which has been created. How many invisible things are there in our world? Part of the make up of every human being on earth, is their spirit. Invisible, but if we are without a spirit, we are dead, and the spirit has departed. We do not see the air we breath, but we know immediately if it absent. When this message leaves this machine, the way in which it travels is not visible, but eventually it will appear on your screen or monitor. The transportation of light from the sun is not visible as it travels to earth, yet we can see its influence. Oddly enough, space through which light travels, is dark, we see light when it strikes an object such as the moon or earth. We do not see radio or TV waves coming into our home but when the set is turned on we know that they are there. There are many things that are invisible, yet they play a major part in our lives. Making it very plain to us that though something is invisible, it very definitely exists. Rom. 1:20
