SYNOPSIS OF TRIBULATION, CONTINUED. As we have already seen the extent of the great tribulation is 1260 days, 42 months or 3 1/2 years. That is the same as the last half of the seventieth week of the message given to Daniel. The seventieth week belongs to Israel. It involves the three and one half year ministry of the Lord Jesus, to Israel, which was the first half of the seventieth week. Plus, the three and one half year ministry of the two witnesses in Jerusalem, to Israel during the great tribulation. Their testimony of Christ as Messiah will be the only voice of the Lord heard in the world. They, no doubt, will be apart of every news cast, every day on TV around the world. Their actions and judgments will be closely followed. This is the last half of the seventieth week.
WORSHIP DURING THE TRIBULATION. The antichrist, sitting in the temple of God will require all worship to be directed toward him. He will present himself as God. 2 Thes. 2:4 Incidentally, the reference to a temple of God is not a particular building but to a human body. 1 Cor. 3:16 This would strongly indicate that the antichrist at one time had been a spirit filled person and a part of the body of Christ in these last days. The examples given in the Word show that the greatest enemy to the believer is from the inside, such as Judas. THE MARK, the image, the name or the number of the antichrist will be forced upon the inhabitants of the world. NOTICE, that refusing to accept this mark is certain death. Rev. 13:15-16 The acceptance of the stamp of the antichrist will seal the eternal destiny of the recipient. Once having been marked there is no possibility of salvation for that person. Rev. 14:10 These will be moments of momentous decisions for the people of the earth. Death physically for those who will not accept the mark. Death, spiritually for those who do accept it. The insertion of chips for identification purposes or records, such as medical, are not the mark of the antichrist. However, it is certainly a forerunner and does manifest the possibility of a mark being stamped. Over the years we have seen many world leaders declared to be the antichrist. Books have even been written concerning them, showing from scripture {?} why they were the antichrist. Various acronyms used by governments have been proclaimed as the mark of the beast. While sensational, to say the least, none have proven to be the fulfillment of the prophecy of the Revelation. What has been prophesied will take place at the time allotted by the Lord, not before nor after, but in His perfect timing. The Lord is in absolute control. The two witnesses who will declare that Jesus is the Christ will minister in Jerusalem. Their works will replicate the former miracles for which they are well known. They will be completely untouchably by the forces of the antichrist for as long as the Lord allows their ministry to continue. They are identifiable by their works and also by two men who repeatedly appear in the life time of Jesus but are not identified until the mount of transfiguration where they are named to be Moses and Elijah.
