THE BLESSING OF HEARING. It is possible to read and yet not to hear. Hearing or coming to an understanding of what we have read is vital to the reception of the blessing. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the WORD of God. Rom. 10:17. Perhaps it is better to read aloud that we might not only see with the eye gate but also hear with the ear gate. In that way one would receive a double portion. Too often the prophecies of the Revelation are brushed off as something that we cannot understand, too deep for me or even, it will all work out any way. So a blessing is missed. Jesus spoke of those to whom he ministered as hearing, but not able to hear nor understand. As seeing, they see but do not comprehend. Mt. 13:14 Are we in that category?
THE BLESSING OF KEEPING THOSE THINGS WRITTEN IN THE BOOK. Is it really necessary? He said the time is at hand. If ever the time was ripe for the fulfillment of the Revelation it is in our day. There are so many signs or forerunners indicating the climax of these things found in the book. The church must come to a comprehension of The prophecies that are contained in it. The book is contemporary. Unquestionably the generation of those who will see the finalization of the book are alive today. In order to keep the things written in it, we must know the contents, how else can we fulfill this requirement? The NIV here is good. It translates; to take to heart. It is impossible to over emphasize the importance of becoming involved with this book. After all this is our present and near future.
MAINTAINING CHRISTIAN CHARACTER depends upon our submission to and knowledge of the WORD. Not just the Revelation but the entire WORD. The WORD is that which cleanses us. The WORD inspires and motivates us in our walk with the Lord. The WORD, particularly the Revelation unfolds to us the future workings of the Lord. His dealings with His church and the manifestation of the glory that shall be revealed in her, which is exciting.
We see the order of the heavenly, eternal kingdom of God. Then the final destruction of those who are in opposition to the Lord. Obtain and be involved in the BLESSING that is promised in the book of Revelation. Read it again and again until its pages being to come to life in your life. Remember there is a blessing in it.
