THE BOOK OF REVELATION

THE PERSON OCCUPYING THE THRONE is the source of all the exceeding greatness of the glory that is seen here. Consider what God is, aside from being the everlasting living Lord, HE IS: – LIGHT. I John 1:5 Literally, physically, spiritually this is His very essential quality. There is absolutely no darkness in Him, none whatsoever. nor could there be. Note that He is ranked by the Word as the FATHER of lights (plural). James 1:17 All light emanates from Him. In His eternal being He always has been, glowing, radiant, vivid, pulsating LIGHT, thus John describes the throne as alive and flashing as lightening. All this does not come from the throne but from the one who sits on the throne. As the FATHER of LIGHTS there is no variableness in Him. He does not change. What He has been, He is and always will be, unchangeable. Consistently the same. Interesting, light is the only constant in the universe. It never changes. Christ was resurrected to sit on this throne. Acts 2:30

THE PERSON OCCUPYING THE THRONE IS A SUN. Therefore this great display of flashing light and energy. This is the declaration of the scripture. For the LORD God is a sun. Ps. 84:11. This has nothing to do with our sun, our sun is just an example to us of what God is like. There are many suns in our universe, many much larger than ours, but He who sits on the throne of God outshines them all, collectively. All stars are suns, shining of the activity that creates the light that shines forth from them. Remember the word, aster, in the first paragraph. God is a star or a sun, The LIGHT of the world. The sun is not God, nor could any sun ever be God. Yet, our Lord, in His glory is a SUN. One of the prophetic names bestowed upon the SON of God is that of, the SUN of righteousness. Mal. 4:2 The LIGHT that brought hope to the world. The light that is the LIGHT of life. The LIGHT that came to lighten those who sit in darkness. A LIGHT to Jew and Gentile. He is that great LIGHT that came to give light to all who sit is darkness. His LIGHT has shined into our hearts bringing a knowledge of the glory of God found in the Lord Jesus. We are now children of LIGHT and walk as children of LIGHT. If we walk in that LIGHT then His blood cleanses us from all sin. The only eternal city, the NEW JERUSALEM will be filled and lightened by the glorious LIGHT of the living God until there will be no need of a sun there, only our GLORIOUS LORD.

BEFORE THE THRONE is to be found seven lamps of fire, burning. Seven is the number of Divine fullness. The book of Revelation is the book of sevens. The number seven is used throughout the book. It is the book of the climax or ending. These lamps are light bearing. The represent the Holy Spirit who is the one who enlightens us. The word, sevenfold is well used here for that is exactly what we are looking at. The fullness or the Divine completeness of the Spirit of God.
