The Lord Jesus visited this earth bearing the exact image and likeness of His Father, who is the invisible one. Col. 1:25 So mighty, so powerful is the invisible One that Moses was embolden to leave Egypt, leading the nation of Israel toward the promised land. He had absolute trust and confidence in the invisible God to fulfill His promises to him. The faith of Moses allowed him to fulfill his calling by looking after He who is invisible. Heb. 11:27 After his having been in the presence of the Lord on Sinai and himself absorbing a measure of that glory, until he literally glowed with the precious anointing of the Spirit of the Lord, how could he help but have perfect confidence in the Lord. Ex. 34:30.
The Father is invisible to the human eye because of His immortality. He is not a man, not a human being. He is God, therefore he must be greater than anything which is material and of the earth, earthy. When everything around us has it’s beginning and it’s ending, it is not easy to comprehend One who is eternal. He has no beginning and will never cease to exist. He is the eternal King, the Ruler of eternity. He is the very essence of all things which are everlasting. If they do not exist, in Him then they are temporal and will someday cease to be. He is the only God. The wise and all knowing. 1 Tim. 1:17 Through Isaiah He said; I am the LORD, and there is none other. Isa. 45:6 Again, Is there a God beside me? Yea, there is no God, I know not any. Isa. 44:8.
He is the sole possessor of immortality, never having been born He cannot die. He is the only hope of mankind ever achieving eternal life. He is its source. He is immortality personified, deathlessness and is more than willing to share it with those who will call upon His name. This portion of His nature has been revealed and made available to all who will receive Christ as Savior and Lord. 2 Tim. 1:10 Mortality and the utter corruption of death are over come when the individual has put on Christ. He is our victory and conquered death, and the grave by putting on incorruption and immortality. He opened the way for all to participate of life eternal. 1 Cor. 15:53.
The Father who is the author, the creator of light, is light and as such is the source of all light, all light emanates from Him, both natural and spiritual. Because of the nature of His being He dwells in constant light. 1 Tim. 6:16.
