PSALM FORTY-FIVE

THE FRAGRANT GARMENTS OF THE PRIEST- KING. The priest was to be clothed with garments of holiness. When the righteousness of the Lord is upon the ministry the saints shout and sing for the joy of the Lord. A consecrated ministry will produce great results. Ps. 132:9 Our challenge today is to <put on> the Lord Jesus Christ, to be clothed with His righteousness and His purity. Holiness can only be gained by a total consecration to Christ. Rom.13:14. The consummation of the Divine will is to possess His people in righteousness. The sanctification of the Lord is a part of our blessed inheritance. Rev. 19:8 The office, with the significant robes required a full commitment and dedication. The man anointed was positioned in a sacred place to serve in sanctity and purity. His robes were for beauty and glory. Ex. 28:2 Beauty, reflecting the honor and majesty of the service performed before the Lord.

FOR GLORY. Our God is a God of glory and beauty. He is the King of glory. In the person of the Holy Spirit He anoints His people with the glory of the living God. Our victories are assured when the King is enthroned in our hearts. Behold, He stands at the door, He knocks, desiring entrance. Open the doors, welcome the heavenly, majestic King to occupy the throne room of our innermost being. Ps. 24:7-8 In ministry before Him there is another aspect of this word glory that must be considered. In a negative sense it bears the connotation of a weight or a burden. The priest was to interred for the people and in that way bear their burdens. Ministry today is no different. The problems and troubles of the people are borne by the servant of the Lord. They would be overwhelming were it not for the revealed glory of the Lord in the Holy Spirit. He carries our burdens for us. We must learn to place them all before Him and let Him take the responsibility. 1 Pet. 5:7

FOR BEAUTY. The Lord created <all things> beautiful. Ecc. 3:11 He creates that which is perfect, honorable and majestic. His sanctuary, both Tabernacle and Temple were impressive buildings for worship. He visited and sanctified both as house of worship. Ps.96:6 How much more His Temple, the body of Christ. The true everlasting sanctuary of the Lord. His beauty will be exhibited there throughout the eternity to come. Eph. 2:7 The beauty of the Lord is the portion of His flock, for He beautifies the humble with His salvation. Ps. 149:4 He has promised that He will beautify His sanctuary while making His footstool glorious. Isa. 60:13 Our expectations are high as we draw closer to the end and the fulfillment of the glorious and wonderful promises of the Lord.
