PSALM FORTY-FIVE

HIS ANOINTING INCLUDED THAT OF A PROPHET. The multitude proclaimed Him to be the prophet from Nazareth of Galilee. His entrance into the city created a great stir, they cried out for Him to be their King and they acknowledged Him to be a prophet. Mt. 21:11 His actions following that confession would seem to make Him a mighty prophet indeed. He quickly disrupted the serenity of the Temple market place. Their selling of religious necessities and artifacts in the Temple showed their utter disregard for things sacred. Like a prophet, sent to warn and correct spiritual inequities, He made havoc of their merchandising of religious objects. Mt. 21:12-13

THIS IS THAT PROPHET. In the instructions that the Lord gave to Moses was the prophetic utterance of the coming of another prophet who would be like unto Moses. One coming out of the people, that is, one of their own. When Philip found Nathaniel, he let it be know that the anticipated prophet had been found. The one of whom not only Moses had spoken but the other prophets likewise. His coming and ministry is certainly well recorded in the prophetic messages of the OT. Jn.1:45 The beauty of their prophecies is that Jesus fulfilled them exactly. There could be no doubt as to who He was. He was to be heard, believed and followed. He brought the Words of Life to those who would accept them. He spoke the will of the Father to the people. Pathetically, those who would not hear His message were to be destroyed from among the people of the Lord. Acts 3:22-24

HE IS THAT PROPHET BUT MORE THAN THAT HE IS PROPHECY. He is living prophecy. The total future of this world and our society is wrapped up in Him. Without Jesus Christ there is no future. Daily the truths that He presented are abundantly and so graciously bestowed upon those who believe in and follow Him. Jesus Christ is Revelation, the living utterance of the prophetic declaration. Rev. 1:1 The prophet came to foretell the future, to correct present and where possible bring deliverance from the past. The words of the Lord Jesus came forth from the Father by direct inspiration. He truly spoke the Word of God by the direct illumination and commandment of His Father. John 12:29 Perfect and unconditional unity. As with the prophecies of His first appearance there was total complete compliance between what was prophesied and the consummate fulfillment, so it will be in the days of His Second Coming. He will return precisely as He stated He would, when He said He would. We would all greet Him most gladly if today were the day of His Coming. But, it is not today. There are still elements of HIS prophetic utterances that have not reached their final status and until they are completed He will not nor He can come. He will not violate His WORD. Jesus was that anointed prophet.
