MESSIANIC PROPHECIES IN ISAIAH

Esteemed him not.  Isa.53:3 No respect for the Son of God? How could it be? Listen to the words of Peter in Acts 3:14-15. You denied, disowned the Holy One. The essence of Holiness was manifest to them. He had come to make them like Himself, Holy, but they would not accept Him. He was the Just one, the righteous one. Once again He is all that the word justice implies. We are made to be just through His atonement at Calvary. He is our justifier. They killed the Prince of life. The Author of all life, natural and spiritual proceeds from Him. ALL things were created by Him and for Him and by Him all things consist or remain in their order. He controls the universe.  Col.1:16-17 Remember it was our sins that nailed Him to the tree. In spite of all this He loves us and will judge us in righteousness or with equity.

Surely He has borne.  Isa.53:4 For a fact, He has carried our infirmities {Heb choliy – malady, anxiety, calamity, disease, sickness – Strong}. Do you find your trial somewhere in this list? Remember, casting all your care upon His for he careth for you. 1 Pet.5:7 There is no need for us to be burdened down when He has already taken the load. Cast, throw you situation over onto Him. He will work it out. He has carried our sorrows. Situations in life that produce sadness cannot be avoided. Not every day is a sunny day. There are dark and dismal days. Problems will arise but for every conflict we face, He is there and will help us through the difficult places. Remember He careth for you.

There has never been a more severe judgment made in any court than that made in the eternal court of God. The punishment was to be the cross. Only the most evil, the vilest were crucified. Even the Law of God proclaimed Him to be cursed because He was hanged on a tree. Gal.3:13 How great is the love of God? The sacrifice, the offering of an only Son is so tremendous in manifesting that love to us. The Father must have felt great agony as He saw the time approaching for the atonement to be made. It was necessary that God strike his Son, for He was to be stricken of God. It was needful that God smite His Son, for He was to be smitten of God. It was vital that God afflict His Son, He was to be afflicted. Words fail me as I try to depict in my mind the enormous emotions of the Father and the Son in the transaction of the salvation of man. Note the use of the personal pronoun OUR in these verses. Jesus bore what we should have borne and were it not for Calvary, we would have. He who had never sinned, became sin, for us. What great love, that one who was purity itself would bear the punishment for the vile and the wicked.
