MESSIANIC PROPHECIES IN ISAIAH

He was put to grief. The word grief is interesting here for it is translated: SICK in the case of Jacob. Gen.48:1 TRAVAIL in Jer.4:31 GRIEVOUS in reference to a wound. Jer.10:19 INFIRMITY concerning the troubles of the Psalmist. Ps.77:10 WEAK in speaking of Lucifer. Isa.14:10 {become in this verse is also the same Hebrew word, is this inferring that he is doubly weak?} Our incapability’s, our sicknesses, our frailties, our shortcomings are all laid upon Him. We must learn to give them to Jesus. There is no need for being overwhelmed by something that He has already borne.

His soul an offering for sin or the guilt offering. Animal life or a living, breathing creature. The soul is that which gives life and motivation to the flesh. The life of the flesh is in the blood. Lev.17:11  Contaminated blood brings death. The blood or the soul life is the work horse of the body. It is a river of life, flowing constantly, enabling the body to function. Isa.53:12 His soul is poured out unto death. The only acceptable sacrifice for the cleansing of sin is blood, His blood alone can atone. HOW MUCH MORE SHALL THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST, purge your conscience from the guilt of sin. Heb.9:14Only His blood was pure and innocent. God cannot nor will He ever accept any other atonement. The sacrifice of Christ is the only, once for all sacrifice. Eternal life cannot be attained by any other means. Only Jesus can assure one of eternal life.

He shall see His seed. Isa. 53:10 His progeny is assured. Every member of the body of Christ is born of the incorruptible seed, the everlasting WORD of God. By the Holy Spirit, the seed is implanted in the human spirit, resulting in a new birth. A new creature, living a new life because of the marvelous change brought forth by that seed.

Christ was the seed of David {who was a type of Christ}. John 7:42 Christ was also of the seed of Abraham as was David. God gave to Abraham the promise of a multitudinous posterity. There is a threefold promise given to Abraham concerning the assured abundance of his descendants> There is a progression of value to be considered in these elements that are used as examples.
