Freedom, liberty, release from bondage that incarcerate the spirit of a person until they are psychological prisoners of their own minds, in their thoughts and memories. He whom the Son sets free is free indeed. We are proclaimed to be more than conquerors through Jesus Christ. The release from all that hinders and brings bondage has been purchased for us by Christ. We are Gods freeman.
The acceptable YEAR OF THE LORD. The year of His favor. The manifestation of His mercy and grace. In keeping with the context of the theme of chapter sixty-one. This is a fitting place to consider the year of JUBILEE. Lev. 25:9-13. This all important event took place on the TENTH day, the DAY OF ATONEMENT. In the SEVENTH MONTH, at the time of the FEAST OF TABERNACLES. Every FIFTIETH YEAR. It was the year of restoration. Slaves, servants, bondslaves were set free, were it their choice. Liberty was to be proclaimed throughout the land. It was a HOLY YEAR, set apart unto the Lord. The fields were not to be sown nor reaped. In Israel every SEVENTH YEAR was to be a SABBATH. In the SIXTH YEAR the Lord purposed to give them a DOUBLE PORTION or sufficient to last them for two years. In the case of the YEAR OF JUBILEE the DOUBLE PORTION would have been in the forty-eighty year. Their crops would have been sufficient to last for year forty-nine as well as year FIFTY. Pathetically, it would seem as though this blessing was ignored and never celebrated. The significance of this to us is the fact that the Lord has a definite time schedule that He has established and we are approaching the completion of Hid calendar. This is an event that is yet to be accomplished in the Church. We enjoy Passover or salvation throughout the blood of Christ. We celebrate Pentecost in the infilling of the Holy Spirit. Both of which accomplish certain liberties and freedoms in our spiritual lives. Even so, we recognize that there are a number of challenges in the Word that we have not consummated in our lives. The YEAR OF JUBILEE, THE DOUBLE PORTION is for the church in our day. There is a far deeper life than what we are experiencing today. There is a commitment that takes us into the SECRET PLACE OF THE MOST HIGH. A place where Christ not only dwells within but He lives His life in us. There is a perfection into which He will lead His Bride that she might be totally, completely like her Lord.–End–.
