The introduction of a day when sin ceases to control. Removed in one day. There are some important days recorded in the Word but none more important than this one. During the keeping of the Feast of Tabernacles, [the one feast not yet prophetically fulfilled in the church there was that all important day called the Day of Atonement. On this day the High Priest would enter into the Most Holy place to make atonement, for himself and his family, for the people and for the Tabernacle and or the Temple. When this day arrives for the church the bride will be chosen. This is the day of her perfection. The completion of the intent and purpose of the Lord in obtaining a perfect people. The Bride that will meet all the Divine requirements recorded in the Word of God. She will live by the book and in the book.
The holiness of the Lord of hosts to be a sanctuary to some. To others He will be a stone of stumbling. Isa. 8:13 His holiness is to be feared rather than the enemy. The fear of the Lord, that is wisdom. Job 28:28 To fear the Lord is to stand in awe of His Majesty and purity. To exalt Him above every other object or person that requires our attention. The Lord is our sanctuary, our place of worship, our refuge. It is in the secret place of the Most High that we enter into His glorious presence. Here is to be found the revelation of who and what He is. His splendor and majestic presence are made known in the sacred presence of he Lord. Strength and glory are made available here. Ps. 96:6.
A stone of stumbling, causing many to fall. The prophetic utterance of Simeon was that, this child was to be the cause of the falling and rising again of many in Israel. Lk. 2:34 They were looking for a King and a Kingdom to be established in that day. An earthly, natural kingdom and not Spiritual kingdom. There was no vision, there was no revelation. They did not live in faith but trusted in the letter of the Law. The works of the Law, the multiplicity of traditions that had been added was their hope. So, they stumbled at the stumbling stone. Rom. 9: 32-33 Those who placed their faith in Him would never be put to shame. Note that the stone was to be treated alike by both the hoses of Israel, that is the ten tribes, Israel or Samaria, and Judah, the two tribes, or Jerusalem. The Prophet Isaiah acknowledged the divided house of Israel and at times addressed both collectively and individually.
The stone was intended by God to become the foundation of a dynasty. His intent was to bless and fulfill His promises to Israel. By their rejection, what had been purposed for good now became a curse to them. Jesus said; those falling on the stone would be broken and brought to salvation. Those who rejected the stone would be ground into powder, or brought to most sever judgment. Lk. 20:18 Further illumination on this subject is to be found in one of the Messianic Psalms Ps.69:22 Their table or feasts were to be come a snare. They held to the traditional feast rather than the consummation which was in Christ the Passover Lamb. What had been intended, by the Lord, for their blessing and good, because of unbelief became a judgment to them. Jesus came to His own, they would not receive him, to those having faith in Him he is the foundation and chief corner stone. The prophecies of the stone of stumbling and the rock of offense were accomplished just as the Word declared it would be. The Word of the Lord is strong tower. The refuge of the righteous.
