MESSIANIC PROPHECIES IN ISAIAH

This stone was to be disallowed, repudiated and disproved. 1 Pet. 2:4 It is those who are disobedient to the purpose and will of the stone who reject the stone. Never the less that which they rejected became the capstone of the whole eternal spiritual structure.  1 Pet. 2:7 The stone became a stumbling stone to the rejecter, a stone of apostasy or spiritual death to them. A rock of offense, a snare, something repulsive to them. A trap and a snare whereby man failed and fell, all because of their unbelief.  1 Pet.2:8

The rejected stone was not a myth to Israel, it is a part of their history. Jacob in his search for a bride came to a place where he would have a deep spiritual experience. He took a stone that the builders of Luz had rejected and used it as a pillow.  Gen. 28:11 During the night he had an amazing spiritual dream. He saw a stairway that reached from earth to heaven. v.12 At the top stood the Lord who reiterated the promises that He had given to Abraham and Isaac. It was not enough for His Father and Grandfather to have received the promises but the must become his also. In the morning he established the stone as a pillar and anointed it. v.18 He renamed that place Bethel, the house of God. Jacob made his vows unto the Lord. v.20 All this was fulfilled in the Lord Jesus, the rejected, anointed door to heaven. Israel took this rock with them into the wilderness. It was their source of water. That rock was Christ. 1 Cor.10:4.

One to come from the root of Jesse. The Father of David. Isa.11:1 A shoot or a sprig from the dry stem of Jesse. The rod, the springing forth of new life from a tree that had been cut down, the remnant, the stem or trunk of a tree that had been felled. A Branch, {note the name is capitalized in the scriptures. It is therefore a personal pronoun and is referring to the Lord Jesus}, the green sprout, bringing life to the fallen seed. The dead tree is brought to life at the scent of water. Job 14:7-9. Jesus brought living waters that the kingdom of David might live and flourish.

The Branch of the Lord to be beautiful and glorious. Isa. 4:2 This is a different Hebrew word it is the word Tsemach, Branch, to bear, to bring forth. This Branch is to be beautiful, goodly, pleasant or glorious. It is also to be glorious, splendor or copiousness. In other words it is to prosper greatly. This is no longer the suffering Messiah, but now we see Him as the One who is building an everlasting kingdom. This is the tree of life, which because of its bearing and beauty attracts men into its shade and cover. This tree will bring forth excellent fruit, fruit that is majestic and attractive to the eye of those who hunger. The fruit is glorious, appealing and a delight to those who partake. This prophecy predicts the saving of those in Israel who will be saved.
