THE PLANTING OF THE LORD

THE CALL TO EAT. Continued.
BREAD. Jesus is that bread of life. Jn. 6:48 There are two segments to His statement. First, He is the I AM of the scriptures. The ever, all existent one. The one who not only inhabits eternity but is eternity itself. Were it not for His everlasting nature there would be no eternity. Second, He is the bread of life. Again, He is very life itself. Without Him there would be no life, anywhere in the universe. All life emanates from Him. Natural life and spiritual life are dependent on His being. Jesus is the synonym for life.

HE IS THE TRUE BREAD. Jesus made a distinct difference between Himself and the manna of which Israel ate in the wilderness. Manna was
but a type, in Jesus is found the true, the real bread from heaven. Jn.6:32
Jesus is the bread of life. Not only did He bring the source of life to the
earth but He revealed that life unto all. Life, true life is found in Jesus
alone. Outside of Him there is no life. The bread His flesh? Was Jesus a
radical? Did He really mean what HE said? He plainly stated that the living
bread of which He was speaking was His flesh. Jn. 6:51 The Jews who were present and heard His words understood them very well, for they asked among themselves if this man could give them his flesh to eat. v. 52 His
response is also very understandable. EXCEPT, you eat the flesh of the son of
man and drink His blood, you have NO LIFE in you. v.53 This act of faith, for
there is no possibility that we who live today could accomplish this requirement, except by faith and the communion table. The communion of
the body and blood of our Lord is an assurance of salvation and resurrection from the dead. v. 54 Participation guarantees the indwelling and abiding presence of the Lord. v. 56 How necessary it is that we approach the table of the Lord with a proper attitude. The Apostle Paul was not present when Jesus made these statements but he well understood the importance of the communion table. He spoke of the communion of the blood and body, the cup and the bread. Communion is partnership, communication, fellowship or distribution. We become one with Christ through the cup and the bread. 1 Cor. 10:16 This is still only sixty fold Christianity. Mt. 13:23.

MEAT IN DUE SEASON. The purposes of the Lord seem to be hidden,
when actually they are open and made manifest. There are secrets of the
Lord that are not understood but He reveals them through His Word. Too
often we spend our energy seeking after the things that perish. While
the Lord would have us seek after that ENDURING MEAT. That which produces
eternal life for those who partake of that meat. The meat is that which the
Lord Jesus gave to them and has left to us. John 6:27 It behooves us to eat
the meat that is supplied us by the Lord. It is LIFE.
