THE NUMBER SIX IN THE BUILDING OF THE TABERNACLE.

THE WEST SIDE OF THE TABERNACLE. The Tabernacle was always set up facing the East or the sunrising. So the West side was actually the
back or end of the tent. They were to build this wall of six boards. Ex. 26:21 Each board was ten cubits high [the number of the Law]. The boards were
to be a cubit and a half wide or about twenty-four inches wide. [The full complement of governmental authority. The twenty-four on the thrones around and about the Throne of the Lord. Rev. 4:4 That would make the Tabernacle to be twelve feet wide [number of government]. However, to strengthen the structure, two boards were added, one at each corner. Thus there were eight boards [The number of resurrection]. The two extra boards were joined with the first and the sixth boards making them to be doubled. Ex. 26:17 Thus signifying the double portion, which is the last day revival when the Lord will pour out of His Spirit as never before, culminating in the marriage of the Lamb. Note the multiple of sixes found in this wall. Each board was to have a frame of silver at the bottom to hold it with each frame having two bases, for a total of sixteen. They were made of silver, the metal of redemption. Ex. 26:25 The boards were to be joined together by five
[Redemption] crossbars, with the middle one extending the full length of the wall. Ex. 25:25-28 The boards, the crossbars the rings were all to be covered with gold. The metal of Royalty, righteousness and eternity. Ex. 26:29

CURTAINS OF GOAT HAIR. These were to be the tent over the tabernacle. The tabernacle was the first covering made of fine twined linen with cherubim embroidered in it and was to be tri colored. Typical of the Godhead. This was then to be covered with the covering of spun goats hair and was considered to be the tent. It was the middle covering and was typical of the Lord Jesus. It consisted of five and six curtains. The two were coupled together with fifty loops in each curtain. Fifty is typical of Pentecost. Together there were one hundred loops, fifty in each curtain. Once again we see the double portion. The first curtain was to be folded over the door of the tabernacle, thus once again reminding us of the double portion. Ex. 26:7-11 The clasps use to join the two sections were made of brass. Brass speaks of the judgment of sin. The whole of the Tabernacle declares the message of salvation and its pardon. Christ having taken out punishment. This second or middle covering because of its position is typical of Christ Jesus, the true sacrifice. The goat was a significant offering for the Day of Atonement. The high priest was to choose two goats. One was to be sacrificed. Its blood was to be sprinkled on the Mercy Seat. A very special offering for a very special day. It was the day of cleansing and forgiveness for Israel. After having performed the necessary ceremony the priest then laid his hands on the head of the other goat, confessing the sin of Israel. Having done so, the animal was loosed into the wilderness and their sin was banished and carried from them. Lev. 16:15, 18, 20-21 Goats were a vital part of the ritual of atonement.
