THE SHEPHERDS. Lk. 2:8-12 It has been suggested that they were temple shepherds, which would have been fitting. The angel of the Lord is a theophany of the Lord Jesus. They were bathed in the glory of the Lord. The message is good tidings of great joy, TO ALL PEOPLE. A Savior is born, Christ the Lord. From the very first the fullness of His name was made known. The Lord Jesus Christ. v. 15 They went. The saw. They knew. v. 17 They spread the good news. Israel was not without witnesses, from God and man.
THE LORD IS A METICULOUS TIME KEEPER. Gal. 4:4 Jesus came at the exact time predetermined by God.
THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST WILL TAKE PLACE EXACTLY AT THE TIME SCHEDULED BY THE LORD. Eph. 1:10 His return will take place, NIV. When the times have reached their fulfillment. At the completion of the divine schedule of God. He leaves nothing to chance but has a definite plan which He is following. He has established a goal and He will bring it to its consummation. He will not return until all the prophecies of His WORD have been consummated. He will not be rushed nor detained, He will come on time, His time and no other time.
HE IS COMING PRECISELY AT THE TIME APPOINTED BY THE LORD. Acts 17:31 He has established, covenanted a day of judgment where the ungodly will be judged. The Lord has verified this in raising the Lord Jesus Christ from the dead. They knew. Will we know? Has the Lord given us enough of the events that precede that day so we will know. If not, why not? We may not know the day nor the hour but how about the times and the seasons? There are definite, positive events that precede His Second Coming and He will not come until they are fulfilled.:END:
