TO WHOM WAS IT REVEALED? WHO KNEW?

MARY. The mother of Jesus. There was never a doubt in her mind but that in the holiness of God she had conceived His son. Mary, meaning, bitter or rebellion. She was to face bitterness, in many ways, during her life time. But she, herself was not bitter.

THE PRONOUNCEMENT OF GLORIOUS THINGS TO COME. Do not fear. You are favored of the Lord. The grace or great favor of the Lord was to be hers. There is no question but what she was worthy. She feared (honored) the Lord. The revelation of the ages was about to be given to her. She was to be the first to know of the coming Messiah and she was to be the instrument through whom God would visit this earth, in the person of a man, a redeemer. Luke 1:30

His gender and His name were given to her. Jesus, savior and God. While there were others who likewise were named Jesus in that day, there was only one who was given that name with the Divine inspiration of the living God. The intent and design of the Lord God was invested in that name that was bestowed upon His Son, Jesus. In as much as the Messiah was anticipated, by Israel, from generation to generation, would it be feasible that some ambitious mothers might give that name to their sons, with the hope that he would be the Savior the Messiah? Luke. 1:31

His station for time and eternity. HE IS GREAT. Of His greatness we all are witnesses. He is the great shepherd of His sheep. He gave His life and His blood to bring His sheep within the fold. His greatness is manifest in the individual life as He lifts the sinner out of His sin and into the glories of sonship, with Him. Heb. 13:20
