THE PARABLE.

THE OLIVE TREE. Once upon a time, the trees sought to anoint a ruler, over them. They first approached the OLIVE TREE, Typifying, the anointing of the Holy Spirit. The power of Pentecost is most precious. How could we ever leave and sacrifice that blessed moving of the Spirit which brought us into existence? The OLIVE TREE, wisely refused to surrender the means whereby it had blessed both the Lord and the people. Judges 9:8

THE FIG TREE. The FIG TREE was then approached to be their king. The fruit of the FIG is tasty and sweet. Even as the Word of the Lord, is satisfying and creates growth. It is something that is to be sought after, and when obtained to be most deeply appreciated. The FIG TREE, in its wisdom and knowledge likewise refused to compromise itself to join with the people in their desire. Judges 9:10-11

THE VINE TREE. Its fruit is becoming recognized as a source of health for the human body. Typically, the fruit of the VINE represents the joy of the Spirit, the blessings of the Lord. It is that which brings cheer to both, the Lord and to man. A compromise that the VINE was not willing to make. Judges 9:12-13

THE BRAMBLE. The bramble, the thistle or the briar. All bear one connotation and that speaks of a situation which promotes difficulties and problems, as if though there were not already enough troubling situations. The bramble imposed a judgment upon them if they refused to find a place of shelter in its shadow or if they went back on their agreement. Their beauty, as the cedars of Lebanon, would be destroyed by fire leaping out from the bramble. Juges 9:14-15 The very mixed multitude that Israel allowed to remain in their midst was to become pricks in their eyes, thorns in their sides and would be a source of great vexation to them. Num. 33:55

As an old man who has seen the tremendous growth of GPdI and the very evidence of the blessing of the Lord upon His church. I write this from my heart and with a deep love and concern for GPdI.

Yours in the Love of Christ and with a very serious, heart felt burden for GPdI.
