THE TRIUNITY CALLED MAN

Pastor Carter Conlon Music

And the LORD God [Jehovah Elohim] formed man out of the dust. Gen. 2:7a. Like a potter, the hands of the LORD molded the body of man into a pattern like unto Himself. And God breathed into his nostrils the breath [naphach, spirit or breath] of life.” Gen. 7:2b The very essence of the LORD is in his breath. God is a spirit. The life giving force of the Living One is that which made man more than just a form made of mud. Gen. 7:2c. And man became a living soul [a breathing creature possessing animal vitality]. While both man and animals have animal vitality, the difference is the breath of life, from God, that is found in mankind.

THE BODY:- My spirit in the midst of my body. Daniel 7:15 The body is the sheath or the container of the spirit. The spirit dwells within. The temple of his body. Jn. 2:21. Jesus identified the body as a temple. And her spirit came again. Lk. 8:55.

The girl was dead, her body was before them. When Jesus prayed, her spirit came into her body and she lived again. The first man Adam was made a living soul, the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.” 1 Cor: 15:45. A living being, it is evident that the breath of God not only gives life to the body but to the soul as well. The last Adam, not the second but the last Adam, no more Adams. Jesus is the Adam of the perfect, eternal, heavenly race.

Jesus is the life giving spirit. We are brought to life, eternal life through Him! Except a man be born of water and of the spirit.” Jn. 3:5. Natural birth is by water and breath (pneuma). So spiritual birth or being born again is by water and spirit (pneuma). First the natural then the spiritual.  He that believeth and is baptized; shall be saved. Mk. 16:16. Life begins at the second birth. At home in the body. 2 Cor. 5:6. The natural body is the temporary home of the individual. While our spiritual man is in occupancy we are absent from the Lord. It is called the body of sin. Rom. 6:6 In order to come to the perfection that is in Christ the old man, our fleshly body, must be crucified with Christ.

The Bride of Christ will have participated in every spiritual exercise, so that she may be like her Bridegroom. Your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and you are not your own.” 1Cor. 6:19. You, have been called to be the temple of the Living God. His spirit will abide within you. The baptism of the Spirit is His gift to you. He is not given by men, nor by the church but is THE GIFT OF GOD! If his Spirit dwells in you then you are no longer your own to do as you please. You are now his possession and will willingly do that which pleases him.

THE SOUL:– The life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for your souls.” Lev. 17:11. The soul life is in the blood. Blood is the life of the body of man, it is his soul. The blood is vital to our physical being. Just think of all that the blood does in us, it warms us, it cools us, it promotes healing, and so on.

When thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin. Isa. 53:10. He hath poured out his soul unto death. Isa. 53:12. It is obvious that the soul is spoken of here as something that can be poured out. i.e. a liquid. The Messianic Psalm 22:14 says I am poured out like water.I lay down my life (psuche, soul. Animal sentient) Jn.10:15 His life a ransom for many. Mt. 20:28. He sacrificed his soul or blood for the redemption of mankind. By his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. Heb. 9:12. Being born of man it was necessary that he himself be redeemed by the sacrifice made on Calvary. He is both, the sacrifice and the High Priest offering the sacrifice. He gave all for us, may we now give all to him.

THE SPIRIT:- The spirit is the eternal part of man. It will live on through the ages of eternity either void of the presence of the Lord or in His presence. The choice of our eternal destiny is made here and now, in this life. The body without the spirit is dead. James 2:26. The spirit is a vital entity for life here on earth. They stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. Acts 7:59 At the time of death, the spirit leaves the body and in this case was received up into heaven. Forever to be in the blessed presence of the Lord. The living WORD differentiates between soul and spirit. Piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit. Heb. 4:12. The scriptures separate soul and spirit. Thereby showing that man is a Triunity. Body, soul and spirit.:END:
