THE KING CROWNED

HAIL. KING OF THE JEWS. Hail, a salutation of well being and joy. There was no kindness extended to Jesus in any way. Crowned in ridicule and scorn. Matthew records them as clothing Him with a scarlet robe. Scarlet is the color of redemption. It was used in the Tabernacle and the Temple. Also in the clothing of the high priest. What they did was an act of ridicule but was also symbolic of the redemption that He accomplish. Mt. 27:28 They knelt before Him and placing a reed or staff in His hand, which they used to strike him over the head. They also struck Him with the palms of their hands. They spit in His face.  Mt. 27:29-30

THE CONCLUSION OF PILATE. I find no fault in Him. Jn. 19:4 The cry of the mob was still CRUCIFY HIM. Pilate asked, why should He be crucified, what evil has He done? For all that Pilate had done to Him and had permitted his personal guards to do, he knew that Jesus was innocent of any wrong doing. Before the angry crowd he washed his hands proclaiming himself to be guiltless of the blood of this just man.  Mt. 27:24 How great a root of bitterness can become. How extremely warped the mind that is filled with hatred. They pronounced a curse upon themselves by accepting the responsibility of the spilling of innocent blood. Had they proclaimed the curse to be upon that generation only, it would have been more than sufficient. Blindly and most foolishly they involved their children in the curse. Mt.27:25 Pilate once again brought Jesus before them declaring that he could find no fault in Him. Jn. 19:4 Again the cry from the chief priests and officers is, crucify Him, crucify Him. Jn. 19:6 So, Pilate said take Him. I find no fault in Him. Jesus, the Son of God, the Son of Man. Born into the world to become the Lamb of God. Redeeming the whosoever will by His own blood. Blood of redemption. Blood of forgiveness. He prayed for these anarchist on Calvary, Father forgive them for they know not what they do. Lk. 23:24.:END:
