Ezekiel commanded to prophecy against Zidon or Sidon (fishing town). Eze. 28:21 Located some twenty miles from Tyre and a companion city. Likewise a city involved in shipping and merchandising. According to Ezekiel (Eze. 27:8) Zidon supplied the mariners for the ships of Tyre. The spirit and nature of the city was comparable to Tyre. The cause of an impending judgment was because of their wickedness which was the same as Tyre.

And who can abide in the fierceness of His anger? The Lord was to be glorified within her. He will be exalted or magnified, by the revelation of His mighty ability to rule over all nations and to do with them that which pleases Him. Eze. 28:22 It is most unfortunate that there are those individuals who do not recognize the sovereignty of the Lord until they are in the midst of a display of His fury and then it is too late. Plague and sword were to come upon them resulting in an acknowledgement that the Lord is God. The Lord will display His authority and power in their midst. They will be completely removed from being a problem to Israel.
Blessings upon Israel are pronounced. There coming release from Babylon is foretold by the Lord. It is well to remember that this prophecy was fulfilled when they were given permission to return and rebuild the temple in Jerusalem. The story of the release and return of Israel is to be found in the books of Ezra, Haggai, Nehemiah and Zechariah. One of the important signs of its fulfillment is that the people neglected to build the house of God by building for themselves houses to dwell in. Eze. 28:30 Accomplished and fulfilled. Hag. I:4.
