The glory, the power of the Lord is given to the church to unify them with the identical unity which is found in the Godhead. In His prayer, Jesus prayed for the unity of those who would believe on Him. John 17:22 This is true harmony, each member of the body of Christ having a function to fulfill and through the anointing of the Spirit operation as one. Many members, but one body motivated by the Spirit and perfectly synchronized in action and purpose.
The New Man, while maintaining his individuality and personality, is likewise joined together with others of like faith. He has become a member of a spiritual fellowship where he participates to the fullness, by the Spirit, with the Father and the Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. 1 John 1:3 This is not to be a casual acquaintanceship but a total, complete, all inclusive partnership with the Lord. It is a unreserved communion between the creator and His creation where there is a full knowledge, a revelation, of that which the Lord will accomplish in His people. John 14:20.
Two very positive factors of the Christian life are to be in evidence where the perfect will of the Lord is achieved. The first is, not only knowing the will of the Lord as recorded in His Word but perfectly, in an absolute manner, fulfilling that Word. Secondly, the Lord Jesus looks upon such action as a sign that the individual really loves Him. Those who manifest that love through deeds which are in full obedience to the Word will also be loved of the Father, as well as the Son. John 14:21.
Thus, the cycle is completed and we become the temple, the dwelling place of the Most High. Love and obedience, which are by nature, a part of the new man will assure us of our relationship in the fellowship of Christ. The promise is, that, “we will come unto him and make our abode with him.” John 14:23 The ultimate of the Divine purposes of the Lord are utterly amazing.
