The Lord Jesus, the source of the grace of the Lord, gave Himself for us. His purpose is to redeem us from all iniquity. All, certainly involves every sin that it is possible for man to commit, with the exception of the unpardonable sin. To be redeemed is to be ransomed from captivity, which in this case involves every sin which so consistently plagues humanity. Once an individual has been ransomed, rescued from their captors, they do not continue in captivity but are now set free having been rescued by the grace of the Lord Jesus. Titus 2:14.

His objective in so abundantly bestowing His grace upon His people is that He might have a very special people. A gathering, a church, a body that is totally dedicated to Him. Their peculiarity is seen in that they all have the same Divine character which is seen in the Lord Jesus. They are a purified people, cleansed from the power and activity of sin in their lives. They are possessed by a Godly spirit therefore have a zeal to fulfill the works and will of the Lord, in all things. Titus 2:14.

Sin produces death, naturally and especially spiritually. It creates a separation between mankind and the Lord. It’s opposite, the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ leads to justification. Rom. 3:24 The righting of a life lived contrary to His will. Having been rescued from the quagmire of sin, the individual is exhorted to allow Christ to reign in their lives until His righteousness is revealed in them, producing eternal life, through the Lord Jesus. Rom. 5:21.

O foolish Galatians. How heavy hearted Paul must have been as he addressed them in such a manner. It was a strong rebuke for he questioned them concerning one who had bewitched or charmed them into rejecting the truth which they had already embraced and turning to a lie. Gal. 3:1 The New Man, walking in the Spirit of the Lord would be warned against the purpose of these who would cause them to follow false teachings. More than any in the past, this generation of Christians must be on the alert pertaining to false teachings and revelations which are not Bible based. We are living in the last days and according to the Apostle Paul they are to be perilous times. He describes the conditions which prevail in this present generation in his letter to Timothy. 2 Tim. 3:1-4 Then the specific warning is given of those who have a form, an appearance of godliness but deny the power of the Lord. V. 5 Beware, this is today’s world.
