A NEW MAN

We find great cause to rejoice in the abundant grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace, according to the Microsoft Dictionary, is the condition of being free from sin, e.g. through repentance to God. Let us emphasize the thought of freedom from sin. Sin captivates, it binds and creates paths and habits of sin which are destructive both spiritually and physically. Grace, brings liberty and release from the life of sin and destruction. The grace of the Lord is extended to all persons and has been made known through the Lord Jesus to all who will believe on Him. Titus 2:11 Its result is the eternal salvation of the recipient and the beginning of that new life which is in Christ.

Grace will teach us the ways and desires of the Lord. Especially in relationship to our life in Christ Jesus. Titus 2:11 His grace will reveal to us those things which are ungodly and help us to deny and separate ourselves from every ungodly thing which corrupts mankind. He will enable us to reject, put aside the corruptible, lustful things of this life. Exchanging them for that new life of the Spirit where we live soberly, that is, we mind the things of Christ by becoming spiritually minded. We live righteously, that is, a just and holy life where we become a living example of the pure life found in the Lord Jesus. It is a staggering thought which Paul presents of these living a godly life. A life manifesting the true righteousness and holiness of the Lord. With the Lord there are no impossibilities. If it is recorded in His word, then He will perform His promises in those who diligently seek after that new nature. Titus 2:12 We should also consider the fact that he has relegated this new character and nature, to our lives in this world.

It is also imperative that we consider the time element given to us by the Apostle Paul in association with this type of holy life, for it directly relates to the time in which we are now living. The years of time and preparation prior to the coming of the Lord Jesus the second time. When we look at the calendar of the Lord, the Word of God, we see that His coming is not imminent. It is not the next event planned by Him. There must first be a world wide visitation of the Spirit of the Lord in revival fire, saving and purifying the people of the Lord. Always, before judgment He visits in mercy. One final grand and glorious opportunity to become totally involved in His plans and to enjoy the fullness of His blessings. Titus 2:13.
