A NEW MAN

The power of the Lord to transform lives is evident in the fact that the person who is made new in Christ is called a son of God. They are those who believe and receive the Lord Jesus into their lives. They are made new by the power of the Lord. It is not sufficient to possess a knowledge of the Lord Jesus, to know and understand the history of His life, but one must have been made new by the power of the Lord. In this manner He imparts His power to us that we might live a triumphant Christian life by His power which is resident within the new person. John 1:12.

One certain evidence of a New Man is the guidance of the Spirit. When we rely on the Spirit of the Lord, He will direct our ways and lead us into those things which are beneficial to our spiritual and physical welfare. Rom. 8:14 A true son of God will follow the pattern established by the Word of the Lord. The individual will be tempted frequently by the flesh and it’s desires. Remember temptation is not sin. It is when we yield to the enticement that sin is conceived. The decision is the choice of the one who is facing the temptation. Our mind set, our spiritual activities will determine whether or not sin is committed. Rom. 8:5.

Never have these words of the Apostle Paul had more meaning than today. His exhortation was to the sons of God to live a righteous life and let the glorious light of the gospel shine forth from them. Phil. 2:15 There is no challenge found in the Word of the Lord that is impossible to achieve. Again, it is our mind set, our love for the Lord Jesus will help us in our choices.

As we approach the end of the age we see the explosion of unrighteousness and ungodliness. With the current economic conditions and the statements of Jesus in the book of Revelation coming to pass before our very eyes, we will see a great increase in thefts and robberies. The cost of living is headed in but one direction and that is higher. Rev. 6:6 Wheat was the food of the wealthy, barley of the poor. A penny was the wage earned by a working man for one days work. Consider the dilemma of a man with a family. This is a most powerful indication of where we are today, it is the beginning of sorrows. Mt. 24:8 Mind you, this is not the climax but just the beginning. The oil and the wine were to be untouched by the calamities of the end times. They represent the sons of God who are living in accordance to His Word.
