A NEW MAN

71
Mankind sees and hears the here and now. His thoughts are constantly on this life. Not too many give serious thought about tomorrow, let alone eternity. Those who do give thought to things that are eternal most frequently think of a mansion and streets of gold. In all actuality, heaven is not like earth, nor will it be as most picture it to be. Paul wrote concerning this matter and spoke of the miniscule understanding that most have pertaining to the kingdom of God, or even of the working of the Spirit of the Lord on earth. 1 Cor. 2:9 This scripture is at times quoted and used as an excuse for our spiritual blindness.

The very next statement conveys to us the will of the Lord in this matter. The Lord will always share His purposes with those whom He finds willing to accept them. For instance, when the Lord would visit Sodom and Gomorrah He stopped first and had a visit with Abraham. The question was, should He reveal to him the reason for this visitation? Gen. 18:17 The Lord immediately shared with him the coming judgment on these cities. Gen. 18:20 One certain evidence that the Lord is with an individual is the true revelation of the Word which He shares with them. He wants us to know His will, His actions and works. 1 Cor. 2:10 We are not left in the dark as to the events which are in the immediate future. If we will listen to the Spirit of the Lord, He will continue to give us an understand of last day happenings.

The mysteries of the Kingdom of the Lord should not be hidden from those who are in Christ. As joint heirs with the Lord Jesus and having His Spirit, every child of the Lord should be able to understand clearly those things which pertain to the Kingdom of God. Luke. 8:10 The basic mystery is the salvation provided for the whosoever will, by the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus. The Spirit of the Lord is faithful in dealing with the hearts of mankind by revealing unto them the work of atonement wrought by Jesus for them. A secret, hidden from view from the very beginning of creation, yet, always a part of the plan of the Lord for this world. It is now brought out into full view of all who have eyes to see and ears to hear. The prophetic utterances of the old testament prophets has been fulfilled. The door of salvation is open wide for all nations who will come, to the Lord, by faith in the Lord Jesus. Rom.16: 25-26.
