A NEW MAN

The new man is a person who has been justified by the power of the redeeming blood of Christ. His knowledge of the past, of a sinful life remains but now comes the realization that they have been made totally innocent before the Lord. Rom. 3:24 As far as the Lord is concerned, the past is gone and forgotten. It does not exist in His sight. He has promised that sin confessed, is sin forgiven and blotted out. He will never again remember that the individual had any connection with the works of unrighteousness. Isa. 43:25 The Lord having made the new covenant with mankind and writing His will and purpose in the minds and hearts of the new man, has promised to totally forget the past. Heb. 10:16-17.

As frequent personal washings are necessary to cleanliness and good health, so the same applies to our spiritual life. When we first come to Christ we may not know all the mechanics applied in our salvation but we soon learn that we have being led through a process revealed in the Word of the Lord. Beginning with redemption, the washing away of our sins by the blood of Christ. Rev. 1:5 There can be no pardon or freedom from sin except by blood. Heb. 9:22 Inasmuch as blood originates from the father of every child, the blood flowing through the veins of the Lord Jesus was the blood, the life of God the Father. His blood was pure, innocent, sinless blood, the only blood that could wash humanity from their sins. Blood, the same as ours, yet, unique seeing as we are born in sin and sharpened in iniquity. Ps. 51:5.

Essential to spiritual growth and advancement is the washing of water. Under the rules of conduct for the priesthood of the tabernacle, before they could minister, they had to go to the laver and wash. Ex. 40:30-31 As is natural birth, so is spiritual birth. In bringing forth the church, in the hour of His crucifixion, Jesus shed not only His blood but water came forth mixed with the blood. A happening to which many pay but little attention, still it is important. John 19:34 Jesus came by water and blood. Born as is every other human being in to this life. However to those who would follow Him, the water and the blood hold great significance. Both areiIndispensable for spiritual growth and the maturity of the spirituality of every one who would follow Christ. 1 John 5:6 The new man must be born again. Taking on the life of Christ and following the example which has been well established. John 3:3-7.
