The Lord Jesus in presenting the parable of the prodigal son made the statement that he came to himself. Luke 15:17 He had progressively gone away from his former life and found himself about as low as a young Jewish man could go. Imagine, feeding swine and then desiring to eat what they were eating. One thing is certain and that is, he was half starved. In that pitiful condition, he suddenly realized that the solution was to be found in his fathers house. Everything he needed and desired was available there, even for the hired help.
The Christian of today has spread before them a vast array of good things. Spiritual blessings that are unrecognized and untouched. It’s time to return to Father’s house and embrace all that has been prepared for us. Why live as spiritual paupers when the riches of heaven are made available to all who will partake of them. Are the riches in glory of such mundane value and purpose that they apply only to this world? Phil. 4:19 What ever happened to the simplicity of the Gospel, such as, Seek you first the kingdom of God and all these things shall be added unto you. Mt. 6:33 The Lord knows the needs of each and every child of His and that before we even ask of Him. Mt. 6:8.
Those who place the Lord first in their lives will be greatly blessed of the Lord. When spiritual blessings are received it is amazing how little material things retain their value. The natural man will be glad for every natural, worldly benefit received. The spiritual man will rejoice greatly in the manifold blessings of the Lord so abundantly bestowed upon them.
All spiritual blessings, yes all, everything that He has available is ours, if we are in Christ. There is no limit to the access that we have to those things which are heavenly and spiritual. If we believe His Word, then all things are possible. Whatever spiritual blessing you desire is yours, because He HATH ( past and present) blessed us with ALL spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ. Eph. 1:3 It is a shame for us to sit in spiritual poverty when the Lord has promised us great and precious promises. He has in His storehouse every good and perfect gift with which He wants to abundantly, spiritually bless and spiritually nurture those who are His very own. It is His good pleasure to give, the whosoever will, the Kingdom of God on earth. James 1:17 No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly. Ps. 84:11 The promises of the Lord are many along these lines. He promised in the day that we would seek Him with all of our hearts, we would be found of Him. Jer. 29:13.
