1. The sun is used to represent the Father. It is the greater light, It rules the day. Gen. 1:16 The sun is the source of all natural life for our planet. All sources of energy derive their existence from the sun. Without the sun, earth could not exist. Paul said: In Him we live and move, and have our being. Acts 17.28 All light, all life is found to emerge from one source and that is the Father. Jehovah Elohim (Elohim, is in the plural, indicating the nature of the Godhead), is a sun. Ps. 84:11. The sun is not God nor indeed never can be. Nevertheless, The Father in all of his glory is greater than any existing light bearing body. In the dream/vision given to Joseph he saw the sun, moon and eleven stars bowing down to him. Gen. 37:9. Jacob interpreted this to mean that he, the father (the sun), his wife (the moon) and his eleven brothers (the stars) would bow down to him. We have this instance in the scripture where. The light giving bodies are used as symbols representing a family. Gen. 37:10 We are using a Bible principal when we use these created light giving bodies as symbols helping us to understand the Godhead. That which unifies them is the light they dispense.
2. The moon is the symbol of Christ. The light that shined in the darkness of night was Jesus. Jn. 1:5 The lesser light reflecting the greater light. My Father is greater than I. Jn. 14:28 The moon is a lifeless body reflecting the light of the sun. Jesus came manifesting the glory of his Father. As the moon is pocked marked and scarred so the Lord Jesus was to be; marred (disfigured) more than that of any man. Isa. 52:14. The cross was not a beautiful sight. The moon, every month bears witness to the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. It passes through four phases, four is the number of the earth. Jesus died and rose again for the inhabitants of this earth. The Psalmist called it: the faithful witness in heaven. Ps. 87:37 There is no greater witness, nor will there ever be than our Lord Jesus. The moon was appointed for seasons. Ps. 104:19 The religious feasts of Israel are all determined by the moon. All three light bearing bodies will warn of the Second Coming of Christ and the end of the age. The sun will be darkened and the moon will be bathed in blood as a sign and warning to this world. This will take place before the dreadful day of the Lord. Joel 2:31. They will be darkened and withdraw their shining. Joel 3:15Jesus said these things would take place immediately after the tribulation. The bride of Christ is shown standing on the moon. The true foundation, Christ Jesus. It is appropriate that the moon will be turned into blood for that is our foundation. She is clothed with the fullness of glory, the sun and crowned with a diadem of twelve stars, Apostolic leadership. Rev. 12. The stars, innumerable, man has yet to discover their number and the extremity of the universe. Only the Lord knows their number and their names. Ps. 147:4 We live in a galaxy containing billions of stars and there are billions of galaxies with billions of stars in them. What an amazing thing God has done. The Lord used this astonishing number when giving His promise of a posterity that would be endless to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven. Satan desired to exalt his throne above the stars of God. Isa. 14:13 In other words he wanted to rule over the human creation of God. Leadership in the body of Christ is represented by the seven stars in His right hand. Rev. 1:28 It is well that we remember that all stars are light bearing bodies like our sun. The Bride will be clothed with the sun The righteous will shine as the sun in the eternal kingdom of God. There is a glory of the sun in the resurrection as well as a glory of the moon and the stars all glistening with the eternal glory of the Lord. Note 1 Cor. 15:41 Look at the beauty of the creation of God that is seen in this earth. Then envision if you can the Majestic Glory of the new creation in a new heavens and a new earth. A true vision of heaven must be able to be compared to the revelation of the Word of God.
