His angels appear with Him also and have the responsibility of gathering His elect from around the planet. That all the events which
are recorded here occur at this moment is verified in 2 Thess. 1:10 It is when He comes to be glorified in His saints. He is glorified when He comes to receive His very own unto Himself. 2 Thes. 1:8 IN FLAMING FIRE. What a fearsome and awesome sight that will be. This world faces a future of
horrible consequences, except they serve the Lord. You may find this study very difficult but it is truth. Ps. 21:8-9 The enemies, those who hate the Lord to be taken captive at the time of His appearing. In His wrath and anger {both of which are just} He will consume them like in a fiery oven. They will be completely overwhelmed and consumed by the fire of His coming. This
will be complete annihilation.
FOR AS THE LIGHTNING. Mt. 24:27 Lightning, an electrical charge associated with clouds. Lightning travels at the speed of light, or one hundred eighty-six thousand two hundred eighty-two miles per second.How quickly He will encircle the earth? Almost simultaneously every inhabitant of the earth will see Him. Will He come with fire? Lightning discharges around one hundred million volts. Its path is heated to sixty-six thousand degrees Fahrenheit. He is indeed coming with flaming fire.
Jesus is coming from the East, or the sun rising. Ps. 29:7 NIV. The voice of the Lord strikes with lightning. He comes with a shout. His shining forth will reach even unto the West. The word coming, as used here, Mt.24:27, is the Greek word, parousia, which means coming or advent. It is the word
which is translated to mean rapture in Bible interpretation today. This
verifies this moment of time to be the RAPTURE.
THE SLAIN OF THE LORD SHALL BE MANY. Isa. 66:16 The word,plead, means to pronounce judgment. His Second Coming is not a time of seeking and finding the Lord in salvation. When He comes the door of salvation will have been closed. If we will hear His voice today is the day of
salvation, now is the accepted time. The Lord Jesus will contend with fire and sword, or Spirit and Word. The many spoken of here are the unsaved inhabitants of the world, all of whom will be slain at His coming. No one would be able to face the blast of that moment and live through it. ALL
UNSAVED will be totally annihilated when He returns. The prophecies of the book of Isaiah will plainly show us the total devastation that takes place at this event.
