WHO IS THIS? The whole of the city of Jerusalem was moved when the Lord Jesus entered their city. Their cry was; WHO IS THIS. It would seem as though many in the world are still wanting to know who He is. Mt. 21:10 That was His first coming. His second coming will be with an entirely different attitude and purpose. Now is the season of mercy and grace. Today is the day of salvation. The mercy of the Lord is so beautifully extended to the whosoever will. It is not easy to face the events that are due in the end of the age.
HIS GARMENTS ARE STAINED WITH CRIMSON. At His first coming it was His blood that was shed for the sins of the world. At his second coming it will be the blood of the living ungodly nations which is spilt. Isa. 63:1 His garments stained with the blood of warfare. The prophet changed his view and noted that He will come in glorious garments, garments of majesty, garments of light. Marching forward in the might and strength that is His and His alone. He was identified as the one who
speaks in righteousness and is strong to save.
I HAVE TRODDEN THE WINEPRESS. This is the response to the second question asked by the prophet. Isa. 63:2-3 Once again we are looking at complete destruction. This time, expressed in a most emphatic and dramatic way. The ungodly to be trampled by the anger of the Lord.
We must remember that He is coming at the conclusion of a world that has been totally given over to every unrighteous practice that man and Satan can think of. Satanic rule will have been the order of the day. The day of the Lord will be a day that is called cruel, accompanied by wrath and
fierce anger. A time when sinners will be destroyed from off the earth. Isa.13:9 The identity of the judge is made very plain in Rev. 19:13-15. His name is called The Word of God, or none other than the Lord Jesus. The Word of Life, at that time will mete out death to the inhabitants of the world.
His rule will be stern, hard and absolute like iron. He will tread the winepress of God with wrath and fury. It is likewise called the day of vengeance or recompense. Jesus spoke of these days of vengeance by stating that all these things shall be fulfilled. Luke 21:22 Perhaps just considering
these horrible judgments creates a bit of fear or consternation is our hearts. The Lord has said do not fear, be not of a fearful heart for your God will come and deliver you. Serve the Lord, be strong in the power of His might. He has promised that only with our eyes would we see the
judgment of the wicked. Such a heavenly and wonderful day for those who are serving the Lord with all of their hearts. But what a dreadful and horrible day for those who have rejected His salvation, which He so freely offers to all who will accept His abundant mercies.
