THE ONE HUNDRED FORTY FOUR THOUSAND

THE CITY SURROUNDED BY A MEASURED WALL. The city is the New Jerusalem. The crowning master piece of the Lord. The city of His creation. The place of His throne. His dwelling place forever. John is led by the angel, carried away in the Spirit to view that great and wondrous city of the Lord. It is identified as the bride the Lamb’s wife. Rev. 21:9 That can only emphasize the importance of a perfect last day gathering of the redeemed who are to be His Bride. A people of perfection. Bearing the full stature and holiness of the Lord Himself. She is called a great city and she is that in every aspect of the word. Great in size. The very epitome of everything that the Lord is. She is also called the holy Jerusalem. This is the city that Abraham started out to find. A city with sure, incorruptible foundations. The technician, the craftsman, the mechanic, the maker was very God Himself. Heb. 11:10

THE CITY MEASURED. There will not be a fault of any kind to be found in his city. Absolutely nothing in it is out of line, miss measured or will fail to fit in its proper place. The city is to be measured by a reed of gold. Rev. 21:15The Greek word kalamos, is used here. It may be translated, pen. Thus indicating that the measuring reed used is the Word of the Lord. Its measurement was to be twelve thousand furlongs, adding the height plus the width will leave us with the number one hundred forty four thousand. Rev. 21:16 The immense size of the city is astonishing. If it were set down on the United States it would almost cover the entire country. Then, it would be as high as it is wide and long. The wall likewise has the stamp of one hundred and forty four on it. The seal of the one hundred forty four thousand is indelibly stamped on the city.

THE CITY IS THE APEX OF ALL THAT IS SPIRITUAL. There is no building in it set aside for a Temple or building used for worship. The whole of the city is the dwelling place of the Lord. It is His house and place of His abiding presence. The Father, the Lamb and the Holy Spirit are the Temple of the city. There is no need for any other. Rev. 21:22 The beauty, the majesty, the glory of that city is the Lord of glory. The created light bodies will no longer be needed as He who is LIGHT now inhabits the city in all of His splendor and glory. There is no way that words can convey the mighty wonder of this glorious city. The closest we can come to it is the brilliant shining of the sun. But, this city in all of its shinning glory will far outshine the sun. It is here that the words of Paul may be applied that, the eye has not seen, the ear has not heard nor has man imagined that which the Lord has prepared for those who love Him. 1 Cor. 2:9 But the Lord does reveal His plans and His purposes to His people. He does not leave us ignorant of that which lies in the future. He has given us His Spirit, and that Spirit will lead and guide us into all truth. 1 Cor. 2:10 Our heats are filled with anticipation as we face the future and the blessed revelation of these mighty things. :END:
