THE RIGHTEOUS SHALL THRIVE AS A GREEN LEAF. Prov. 11:28 NIV Green is the color of life. It is the most restful color to the eye. The sheep of the great shepherd are led to pastures of verdant green. Ps. 23:2 The leaves of the tree are of vital importance to its well being and growth. They are an essential part of the whole. The leaf, through the process of photosynthesis, is the food producing portion of the tree. Sunlight supplies the power, carbon dioxide and water are the other elements used in producing a simple sugar. The sugar is then changed into many different chemicals which are life producing and life sustaining. Interesting that the three bring about the one. Might we find this a type of the Godhead in creation? There are numerable examples and types of the Lord in His creation. He has constantly interjected His being, that is, life into His creation. John 1:4 There is a mystery in the process of photosynthesis which can only be explained as an act of God. The leaf receives the poison carbon dioxide, processes it and purifies it. Then releases it as oxygen. Exactly like the effect of the Gospel. From pollution to being altered and cleansed.
THE LONGING HEART OF THE BRIDE. To fellowship with her Bridegroom, the one whom she deeply loves. To find the place where He is resting His flock at noon. Her desires and thoughts are only of Him. SOS. 1:7 His response to her is likewise with the deep feeling of a heart that is in love. He makes mention of her beauty, and surely she is. SOS. 1:15 She finds Him to be handsome, sweet and pleasant. Their meeting was a joyous occasion. Their couch, was green, or in a garden of beauty, certainly with flowers and all else which would be found in a cultivated area. The suggestion is given that there was an arch or a canopy over the couch on which they were sitting. She had found Him and her heart was now satisfied. SOS. 1:16 The greenery, the thought of a garden with its many flowering plants and its great variety of colors creates a picture of the Bride and the Bridegroom together in that place prepared by the Lord.
THE LEAVES FOR THE HEALING OF THE NATIONS. The church has a dual message of healing that it must take to the nations of the world, both, physical and spiritual. This gospel shall be preached to the whole world, then the end shall come. Mt. 24:14 Jesus ministered a gospel of salvation and healing. The early church followed His example. We today have the same message to take to the world and it is being done. The revival of the ages, the final great outpouring of the Holy Spirit is about to break forth on to this world with its result being a perfect church. The completion of the tree of life. The breaking forth of a season where the leaves are green and productive and life, eternal life is extended to all who will believe and receive Christ as Savior. Eze. 47:12 Rev. 22:2
