EXCEEDING AND CONSISTENT FRUITFUL TREES. All type of fresh edible fruit produced by the multiplicity of trees along the bank of the river. All subsist by the waters of the river. We are looking at a type of the last day revival which will consummate the plan and purpose of the Lord. The great supply of fruit will not cease nor can it be totally consumed. There is a continuos growth and ripening of the various crops. Eze. 47:12
NEW OR FIRST-FRUITS. The Hebrew word used here is, bakar, meaning to burst the womb i.e. (causatively) bear or make early fruit (of woman or tree), also to give the birthright. KJV – make firstborn, be firstling, bring forth first child (new fruit). (Strongs.) It becomes obvious that there is something more involving here than just fruit on a tree. Firstfruits were something that was very special to the Lord, they were to be His. Whether from the field or tree, from animal or man, that which was first ripe or firstborn must be dedicated to the Lord. The command was to bring the firstfruits of the ground to the Lord. Ex. 23:19 The first of their ground meal after entering the promised land was to be offered to the Lord. Num. 15:20 The fruit of trees, oil and wine, the first must be brought. Neh. 10:35 Having done so, the Lord could bless them with abundance. The firstborn were to receive a very special allotment inheritance. He was to receive a double portion. Deut. 21:17 Figuratively, the double portion signifies a full and complete portion or anointing. Such will be the measure of the Spirit on the church of the last days. The double portion or identical portion was sought by Elisha from Elijah. 2 Kings 2:9 By fixing his eyes on Elijah and seeing him as he was carried into heaven Elisha received his request. The recorded miracles of Elisha are twice that of Elijah. The fruit of Ezekiels orchard is firstfruits and represents a great harvest to be reaped. Only the Lord knows the end of the fruit bearing life of these trees, if there is any. There is production from these trees every month. They are most unusual and unique. The rod of Aaron and its startling fruitfulness gives us a hint of the ability of the Lord to produce life out of death. Aaron’s rod was well dead and dried, until it was placed with eleven others before the Lord in the tabernacle. Then, in one night it budded, blossomed and bore fruit. Num. 17:8 Most assuredly our Lord is the God of the unusual. Isaac was born of parents with whom the possibility of child bearing was forever gone. It is said of Abraham that he staggered not at the promise of the Lord, in spite of the physical condition of the bodies of two old people. When the Lord promised Abraham was fully persuaded that the Lord was well capable of fulfilling His promise. Unique and unusual circumstances nevertheless hind sight shows us the infallibility of the faith of these for whom it was necessary for them to trust the Lord for the unbelievable. The mystery of the fruitfulness of Ezekiels orchard and the fulfillment of the mystery is once again an act of the Lord. What He has portrayed in this vision He, the Lord will surely accomplish.
