The Law

The honor of becoming the glorious eternal dwelling place of the Lord is something to be greatly desired by His people. The Lord has prepared great and wonderful things for those who become His place of habitation. David had a question and answer session where he posed the question concerning those who have a deep rooted longing be found in the majestic presence of the Lord. Who are those who may dwell in your tabernacle and live permanently on your holy hill? Ps. 15:1 Everyone wants to go to heaven. How many are willing to satisfy the criteria necessary to accomplish such a beautiful goal. The individual who gains the kingdom of the Lord is a person of righteousness embracing the truth, the Word of the Lord and following its precepts. Being religious or joining a religious order is not sufficient. The word of the Lord must be embraced and become a standard of living in the here and now. Ps. 15:2.

The Lord Jesus in His great and abundant love and mercy has prepared a way and a means whereby we may have full and complete assurance of dwelling eternally in His everlasting, heavenly temple. He promised that He would send another Comforter, the Holy Spirit, who would abide with you forever. John 14:16 He did not come on the day of Pentecost for a brief visit. According to the double emphasis given by the Lord Jesus, He, the Spirit, would abide, remain, continue to dwell. Then for those who would teach that His coming was but to those in that day, Jesus said that He would be here forever.

The Holy Spirit is exactly what His name implies. He is the Spirit of holiness. Rom. 4:1 Where He is welcomed and received there will be made manifest a scriptural holiness. He takes the teachings and life of Christ and establishes them in our spirit until we are able to live His life, by the power of the His Spirit, who abides within. There are many attitudes to be found in the church of today toward the subject of holiness, some positive, many negative. However, as it always should be, we turn to the Word, what does it say. Holiness is a spiritual commodity, which if one does not possess it, they will not see the Lord. Heb. 12:14 Blunt and to the point, a statement which must be seriously considered by all who desire to dwell in His eternal presence. The call and leadings of the Spirit can only lead us in the paths of righteousness, for it His responsibility to make the things of Christ plain and understandable to us. Our obligation is to have the ability to hear the voice of the Spirit and to react in a positive way that the excellence of the life of Christ might be manifest in us.
