Of the manifold spiritual benefits granted to those who are in Christ Jesus there are to be found such jewels as wisdom. 1 Cor. 1:30 Not worldly wisdom, for the wisdom of this world is made to be foolishness, because of the exceeding wisdom of God. 1 Cor. 3:19 What is to be found in Christ is that wisdom that excelís. The same wisdom responsible for the marvel of creation which we see all around us. Each strata of creation is dependent on that which is before them and that which follows after. All of creation from the smallest amoeba to the whole of the universe work together in harmony because of the magnificent wisdom of God, as revealed in the Lord Jesus. All that has been created was created by Him and for His purposes.
Col. 1:16-17 Not only did He bring all of creation into being but His wisdom and authority maintains it all, as is, and without deviation.
Wisdom, His wisdom is a gift given, of Him, to those who are His very own.
He speaks and His every word spoken is a wise word, a word of instruction and direction. We have His words in written form, the scriptures speak the words of His wisdom. With the coming of His wisdom, there is to be found knowledge, a comprehension of the truth as found in His Word. The ability to discern and declare all of itís secrets. To search out itís revelations and find in them direction for every avenue of life. Proceeding from His wisdom is the God given ability to understand His Word. He elevates the human capability to grasp and work out the message of His Word. Prov. 2:6.
Righteousness, 1 Cor. 1:30, a gift of His power and grace in our lives. Not something which is theoretical but an actual working of the Spirit in the life of His people. He has extended to one and all who would follow Him the right to be all that He is. To be as holy as He is holy. 1 Peter 1:15-16 His righteousness is imputed to those who desire and request of Him the ability to bear His likeness in all things. After all, if we admire and love Him, surely we would want to be like Him. He is holiness personified. Righteousness of very righteousness. In the development of that new life which is in Christ Jesus He performs a work whereby we are made to be righteous, not of ourselves but by virtue of allowing His word to develop the spirit and nature of Christ in us. 2 Cor. 5:21 Righteousness is a spiritual commodity which should be greatly desired by those who have a true knowledge of His salvation. Righteousness of body, soul and spirit is an evidence of the blessing of the Lord. We want His help and protection, please note that it is found to be the possession of those who delight His heart by seeking and obtaining His righteousness. Ps. 5:12.
