The greatest murderer known to man is not a person but a life style, introduced to Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden, and subsequently passed on to all of their descendents. Eze. 18:20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. To die physically is common to mankind and cannot be avoided. To die spiritually, may be prevented by confessing and forsaking the old life of sin. Confession is not sufficient, there must also be a forsaking of the sinful past. ìHe who conceals his transgressions will not prosper, But he who confesses and forsakes them will find compassion. Prov. 28:13 NASB Confession and then a continuance in the same of pattern of life is not life but death. Being in Christ is an introduction to a whole new way for life. The old things, the life of sin is forsaken, a new life is created which is formulated after the life of Christ. ALL has become new. 2 Cor. 5:17 The person who has been born of the Spirit is Godís new man.
The blood of the Lord Jesus accomplishes a through cleansing when it is allowed to cleanse as is intended. It possesses the power and ability to cleanse from all sin. 1 John 1:7 Its work is to purify, separate, to cause to cease the sin that dominates the life of the repentant. It is time that we quit excusing ourselves and entered into the fullness of the joys of salvation. Today, we celebrate our political liberty in America. True liberty is found in the Word of the Lord Jesus. His truth sets free from all sin, nothing excluded, all still means exactly that, all, everything, completely. John 8:32-36.
The average sermon preached to the average Christian is that which is called the principles of the doctrine of Christ. All of which are vital and most necessary. To build a proper foundation is essential to a strong Christian life.
However, we are urged to go beyond the baby stage and press on to maturity, to perfection. Heb. 6:1 The five fold ministry has been given to the church for the very purpose of guiding her into a state of perfection.
Eph. 4:11-12 The importance of the subject is determined by the fact that the whole of that which ministers to the body of Christ is directed toward perfection. Essential to obtaining a status of maturity is obedience to the Word and a deep and true love for the Lord Jesus. Keeping the word is a sign that there is a real love for Him. Where that love is made manifest there will be a definite spiritual growth. 1 John 2:5 Every true accomplishment in life demands the setting of a goal and then devoting every effort possible to reach that goal. Our goals have been established by the Lord and His Word. The rewards are out of this world. They are eternal and everlasting. They are most definitely worth our every effort.
