THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST A MOMENT OF REWARDS. As with the division of the sheep and the goats once again we find a decisive moment. There will be a separation made according to the life that has been lived. Mt. 16:27 Not only will the living be judged at that moment of time but the dead as well. Acts 10:42 None are to be excluded from an appearance before the judgment seat of Christ. Judgment is based on the type of life that we have lived, good or bad, in Christ Jesus or without Him. Note Paul said we labor to be accepted. It is eternally important that we make sure our salvation. 2 Cor. 5:9-10 Incidentally, though all in Christ shall stand before Him, there is no condemnation at this time, for them. Our judgment is now in hearing and reading the word of the Lord and in responding to it in a positive manner. For judgment must begin in the house of the Lord. 1 Pet. 4:17 Again, it is made positive that all judgment and condemnation is accomplished by our obedience and conforming to the Word. Rom. 8:1 If it is difficult for the righteous to be saved, where is it made possible for the sinner to find his way into the millennium. 1 Pet.4:18 In so many ways the scriptures positively show that the sinners existence will cease at the second coming of Christ, as far as life on this earth is concerned.
THE MEEK SHALL INHERIT THE EARTH. Immediately our curiosity is aroused. WHO are the meek? The Scriptures will identify them for us. First of all, meekness is not weakness. The word in no way implies such a thing. It means, Humility, lowly, gentle. Moses was an exceedingly meek person. More so than any other person of earth in his generation. Num. 12:3 Yet he stood before God, in His very presence. Stood up to Pharaoh and delivered the children of Israel. He defied and defeated Pharaohs armies with the help of the Lord. JESUS was a meek man. He entered Jerusalem in all meekness and humility. Mt. 21:5 Zech. 9:9 Both of these men were meek but mighty through God. THE MEEK: Are taught of the Lord. He will guide them in the right way, the way of righteousness. Ps.25:9 Are a happy people in the Lord who find that walking with the Lord will increase their joy in Him. They worship and rejoice in the Holy One of Israel, the Lord Jesus Christ. Isa. 29:19 Are assured of a bountiful supply, where-ever they might be.Even in the wilderness. They seek the Lord with praise and worship unto Him. They have found the source of life eternal. Their hearts will live forever. Ps. 22:26 Are those who are diligent in seeking the Lord. They are wise and have learned that obedience is better than sacrifice. They pursue after righteousness and add to their humility. It is these who will be hidden in the day of the wrath of the Almighty. There is a refuge prepared for them. It will be their sanctuary during the great tribulation period. Zeph. 2:3 Are a body of believers who have been judged by the righteousness of the Lord. He, in justice, decides for and accepts the meek. He will stand with them when His destruction is upon the earth. The earth will be smitten by the rod of His mouth, the Word of the Lord. With the breath of His mouth, the Holy Spirit, HE WILL SLAY THE WICKED. Isa.11:4 As we search the Scriptures it be comes increasingly difficult to find a way for the sinner to find their way into the millennium. Are those who have found the peace and rest that is in the Lord. They have come into submission to the will of the Lord. Having done so they have found the peace and tranquillity that they had always sought. They are equally yoked with the Lord. Blessed yoke. One with Jesus. What glorious companionship. Closely coupled with Him, we learn, He teaches us. His experience and wisdom is made available to those who are His fellow yoke men. Mt. 11:29 Are those who have put on Christ. They have found that which pleases their Lord. A meek and a quite or peaceable heart. The Lord place great value on those who possess such a spirit and attitude.1 Pet. 3:4 THESE SHALL INHERIT THE PRESENT EARTH AND THE NEW HEAVENS AND THE NEW EARTH. SELAH. THE MILLENNIUM, THE SABBATH OF THE AGES. The Sabbath was instituted by the Lord Himself. The word Sabbath has the connotation of an intermission, to desist from exertion or to repose. We find in the scriptures that the Sabbath was five fold, (five the number of atonement). There was the Sabbath of days, the seventh day (number of perfection). Seen in the act of creation and the weekly Sabbath. Gen. 2:2 Ex. 20:10 The Sabbath of weeks (7 x 7 weeks, plus one day) was used to measure the feast of Pentecost. Lev. 23:15-16 The seventh month (the Sabbath of months) is the Feast of Harvest, Ingathering or Tabernacles. The Sabbath of years was 7 x 7, plus one year to the year of Jubilee. Lev. 25:8-13 The millennium is the fulfillment of all these types. It is the seventh day, each of which was one thousand years long. There is the Sabbath of creation. The Sabbath of the week. The Sabbath of the weeks. The Sabbath of the years. These all point to the final one, the Sabbath of the ages or the kingdom millennium. 2 Pet. 3:8
