For a proper understanding of the heart of the Lord pertaining to Zion we must hear what He speaks in His Word. The words rejected and refused are predominant in the Word pertaining to the treatment of the Lord Jesus. Jeremiah said; they have rejected the word of the Lord. Jer.8:9 Jesus stood overlooking Jerusalem and wept over it, knowing that it was approaching the end. Lk. 19:41 Jesus mourned over Jerusalem, the sinful. declaring that He would have gathered them unto Himself, but they would not. Lk. 13:34 Because they had rejected Him their house is now left desolate.Lk.13:35. It is one thing for man to reject God but when God responds the emptiness is absolute. Jerusalem was to be destroyed and become desolate. History records this as a fulfilled fact.
Has the time of the gentiles really come to an end? Lk. 21:24 Jesus linked this period of time to His second coming, as we see in v.25. John, on Patmos, was commanded not to measure the outer court of the temple that was before him. For it was to be trampled under foot of the Gentiles for a period of forty-two months, or the length of the tribulation period. This would in indicate that the gentiles are still in control, up to and during this time.
Is the Jerusalem of the Lord natural, worldly, carnal and of this world? Or is it Spiritual and of that which is eternal? Abraham had two sons, one of the flesh and one of promise. Gal. 4:22-23. Now which one was of the Spirit and received the promises. Certainly the one born with the promises of the covenant upon him. These two are an allegory or an example. Then Paul immediately refers to Mt Sinai as the mount of bondage. Equating it to Agar (the flesh). Only to go one step farther and declare it to be Jerusalem which is now in existence. Jerusalem the city of bondage. Gal. 4:24-25.Contrasted, and what a contrast, to Jerusalem which is above and is free or dwelling in liberty. It is she, who is mother of all who believe. Gal.4:26 What does the scripture say? Cast out the bond woman and her son for he shall not be heir with the son of the Spiritual and true heir of God. The natural is cast aside for the advancement of that which is Spiritual. The natural may join the Spiritual at anytime by repenting and believing on the Lord Jesus. Spiritual things are not gained because of race but by the grace of our Lord Jesus. A careful study of the scriptures will reveal that the total desire of the Lord is toward that which is Spiritual. The Spiritual is composed of members all nations who will serve the Lord Jesus and surrender their hearts and lives totally to Him.
