The FATHER. He is LORD (JEHOVAH). I will proclaim the decree of the LORD (JEHOVAH); He said to me You are my Son; today I have become your Father.” Ps. 2:7 NIV.
The Fatherhood of JEHOVAH was displayed by the birth of His Son the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus became His Father’s Son by birth and by birth alone. Prior to His birth He was not the Son but the WORD or Logos. The WORD was made flesh. Jn. 1:14.
Bethlehem, Out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.” Micah 5:2.
As the WORD, the Son was coexistent with His Father. He possessed all the attributes, the nature and the characteristics of Deity prior to His being born of the virgin Mary, as the Son of God. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. Col. 1:17 NIV. Ever wonder what holds the universe in place? His name is Jesus!
THIS IS WHAT GOD THE LORD SAID: Isa. 42:1-5 Jesus, as the Son, became a servant. Serving in doing the will of His Father. Serving by becoming the atonement whereby all men may be saved. I will uphold, sustain, keep fast to him. (My Father and I are one.)
Mine elect, chosen, select. In whom I delight, pleased with, to satisfy a debt. I will put my spirit on him. Anointed of the Holy Ghost and went about doing good. He will bring judgment (justice) to the nations (heathen). He will bring forth judgment (justice) unto truth.
THE PURPOSE OF THE LORD IN HIS SON. Isa. 42:6-7. Called (to address by name) in righteousness to manifest justice and right to the world. I will hold your hand. Intimate relationship. The Father was in him and with him. If you are his son, he will also hold your hand. He will be with you and in you. I will keep you. The gift of a covenant who was to become a light to the gentiles. The Son is uniquely, the sacrifice and the Priest ministering the sacrifice. He alone is the mercy seat. The blind (spiritually and naturally) healed. Captives pardoned and released. Those in darkness released from incarceration, from the prison (dungeon) of sin.
THE SON, HE IS LORD (JEHOVAH). And that every tongue should confess that JESUS CHRIST IS LORD, (JEHOVAH) to the glory of God the Father. Phil. 2:11
The Father gladly shared His name with His Son. The Father is glorified in His Son bearing His NAME. In this manner the Son is identified with His Father. The good pleasure of the Father is in His Son bearing His name. All that is involved in the name LORD is shared equally by the Father and the Son.
God highly exalted Jesus and gave him a NAME which is above every name that is named. All must bow at that name, either now in repentance or in eternity in judgment. The name LORD JESUS CHRIST is a triune name portraying the unity of the Godhead. Jesus was his earthly name. It was also a prophetic name for it means savior. Thou shalt call his name Jesus for he shall save his people from their sins. Jesus, savior, what a beautiful name.
Thus saith the LORD (JEHOVAH) the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts: I am the first, and I am the last, beside me there is no GOD. Isa.44:6
The redeemer is LORD (JEHOVAH) of hosts. Jesus, savior, redeemer is LORD. This is verified in the statement; I am the first and I am the last. Jesus is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending the one which is, was and is to come. The Almighty, (all ruling, absolute and universal sovereign). Rev.1:8 I am the first and the last. I am he that liveth, and was dead, I am alive forever more. Rev. 1:17 The Father is LORD, the Son is LORD. Equal one to another. Complementing one another.
THE HOLY SPIRIT LIKEWISE IS CALLED LORD. Now the Lord is that Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 2 Cor.3:17 The Lord, who is the Spirit. v. 18d.
God is Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of the Lord. He is the communicator between God and man. He is the revelatory one, showing forth the things of the LORD. He is the one who anointed Jesus and who anoints the body of Christ in the earth today. He is an equal member of the Godhead. God made this same Jesus both Lord and Christ when he was filled with the Spirit at his baptism. The name Christ comes from Christoes or anointing, the Spirit is the anointing. The Lord Jesus is the Christ of God, the anointed one.
For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form. Col. 2:9 NIV.
The mystery of Godliness is revealed in the volume of the Word of God. We each bear a likeness of the triunity inasmuch as we too are triune in nature. We are spirit, soul and body. One yet three, three yet one.:END:wk.
